    (Braden)

Her taste, her smell, her touch, and her look all melded into an addictive drug. No matter how far or fast he rode he could not flee the affects nor did he want to. She had seeped within his very core filling a gap he had not realized existed until he had looked within those warm pools. It had taken all his remaining strength to release her as promised only to leave her behind. How would he find her again? What type of reception could he expect to receive? Would she think of him again now that he had taken from her only to flee the crime scene? It could closely guaranteed that she would think on him at least once however the manner in which she regarded him would be in great question. Quite the opposite would be true for him. He would be sore pressed to forget or even halt the continual rotation of a single nuance from their interaction. Even now as he relived those precious moments his fingertips reached up to capture the final remnants of her warmth upon his lips.

Pounding hoofs had unknowingly reached the servants entrance to the castle and as he passed through the gates the straining strand of leather had at last reached its limits. So wrapped up in thoughts of Sparrow he did not recognize the danger until the saddle had begun its downward descent. A split second too late he attempted to leap upward letting the saddle fall while he landed safely on the horses bare back. Instead he followed through with the saddle hitting the ground with his shoulder then rolling away until he could land crouched on his hunches. The impact alone broke through all remaining thoughts of his captive as both rock and sand bit into exposed flesh drawing dark round droplets of blood. Silently he cursed himself rising to inspect the now discarded saddle. In spite of his frustration a smile broke out over his lips when he saw the clean cut caused by her sharp dirk. "Well done little Sparrow," he turned the strap over inspecting both sides, "though I should call you kitten for your tendency to claw your way out of situations." Tossing the strap away his gaze turned upward in time to see the stallion leap over the fence into the royal pasture. "This will teach me not to celebrate an unfinished victory."

Dusting himself off he began the short walk to the kitchen entrance. There was one final challenge he meant to see through; not one set by his teacher but one he had given to himself. Silently he made his way through the kitchen and into the halls. Careful to keep out of site he made his way to a secreted garden, the Empress's Garden. Heightened senses checked and rechecked to assure no other was within the general vicinity before slipping within the peaceful retreat. Stealthily he moved remaining in the darkened shadows provided by the many trees until he reached a pond. Within the tranquil waters coy carp swam unaware of the visitor. Upon reaching the pond he began to climb the willow tree taking great care to leave every part of the bark in tact that no sign could be seen of his assent. Upon reaching a branch heavily ladened with foliage he burrowed within the leafy confines coiling himself until no part of his person could be seen. There he would remain perfectly still until the Empress herself came out for her evening walk.

    (Brenden)

The young prince stood quietly within the peaceful sanctuary of the royal library, the very one place he was able to seclude himself without the constant scrutiny of inquisitive family members. A low sigh of pleasure was given as his ever mute servant fanned at the heated flames burning within the stone hearth, how he despised the cold and damp chill that seemed to constantly lurk within this Castle's stone recesses. Perhaps in this he was more like his fiery sire then his dear mother who's very element was ice itself. Emotionless orbs shifted slightly catching the attention of the kneeling lackey, his right hand lifted long skeletal fingers flicking outwards in a gesture of dismissal.

He remained in a poised stance until the door clicked softly confirming the servant's hasty exit. With that a deep growling chuckle moved past pale lips, his features usually naught but a melancholy mask was now showing the slightest flicker of amusement. Only a select few could draw him into a state such as this and the one that caused this misshapen lapse of amusement was within their mother's private garden at this very moment. It was his twin, the very image of himself in all but personality, it was there and only there that the two brothers differed in the eyes of those around them.

His left hand rose this time, lengthy flesh covered fingers moved through the long inky locks that framed his features. Perhaps it was time to save his wayward sibling from the wrath of their soon to return mother. Turning from the warmth of the flames he moved towards the library's outer terrace. The hem of the layered robes he wore flowed slightly with each purposeful step as if energized by the dark energies that consistently revolved around his tall frame. After lifting the robe's heavy cowl to cover his head and darken sullen features in obscurity he called upon the doorway into the shadowed plane then stepped unhurriedly within.

Not a moment had passed and he found himself standing within his Lady mother's private sanctuary just below the very tree his brother hid within. Darkened eyes remained downcast staring into the colorful koi pond, the cowl remained hiding any telltale expression yet a minuscule smile touched upon the prince's lips. "Your going to be in a world of hurt if mother finds you hiding in her prized willow." A skeletal hand moved outwards palm up as if in supplication to coax the other down. "Come now brother, it seems you had some...difficulties. Why don't we get out of here and you can tell me all about them..." A slight urgency could now be heard tingeing his tone as he urged his sibling to get a move on.

    (Branden)

Damn it! What was he thinking?! Must everything in this day go wrong? He had just achieved the higher level of meditation required to block out the pain of cramping muscles screaming to be stretched. An hour at least had passed since he took up residency in this damndable tree and his brother picks right NOW to show up calling him out. The option of simply ignoring him was nil since Brendon had made it so obvious where he had concealed himself. He had no choice but to come down.

As he prepared to make his descent, still very irritated at his brother's timing, it occurred to him that he did have a say in the way he came down. Their mother would be arriving for her evening meditation any minute so there was no time to waste. Mischief painted his features as he pushed off forcing himself to remain perfectly limp. His aim could not have been more accurate from such a short distance and Brandon fell like a dead weight across his twin siblings shoulders. Had his brother moved in any way he would have avoided some of the downward force of the blow however with only a few feet separating Brandon's previous perch and Brendon's shoulders there would be very few places to run.

To further complicate the situation Brandon assured himself to fall face downward leaving his arms the freedom to wrap around his twin while his fingers grabbed handfuls of the cowled robe. His legs as well would attempt purchase of any appendage they could obtain before the ground broke their fall. Schooling his features to become angelically innocent with undertones of pure sincerity Brandon would wait for the full aftermath to pass. Should he have successfully entangled his brother with the intent to adjust himself practically within Brendon's lap, Brandon would cast the full force of that look directly within his brother's eyes. A water haze would begin to gather within his dark pools as a tremble caught his lower lip. "Brendon," a single dramatic tear broke free rolling down his cheek as Brandon's voice caught, "your my hero."

    (Brenden)

The noisy rustling of whip like willow branches was the only warning given to him that Brandon was in fact taking his advice and coming down from the tree. His hand began to lift in an offer of assistance before pausing in mid-air as a play of his brother's mischievousness touched upon the surface of Brenden's mind. "Oh shi..." Before he had a chance to brace his legs or move away even he felt his sibling's full weight fall upon him landing hard on his shoulders and sliding downwards over his chest. A step back was given followed by another and yet another as Brenden tried without success to regain lost footing. This was mostly due to the fact that Brandon's limbs twined tightly around his own flailing appendages . As well the low drawn cowl was plunged even further over his features when his brother's grasping fingers found a tight hold upon the thickly draped cloth.

It was when his feet tangled within the hem of his long robes that he finally fell landing hard flat on his back. For long moments he lay prone trying to regain the air that was knocked from his lungs...dark eyes remained closed as he tried to ease the sharp pain thrumming just at the base of his skull. The fact that Brandon's dead weight remained centered upon his heaving chest did not help matters any. "By the god's Brandon what has come over you!?" His eyes snapped open a mock fury smoldering within their darkened depths. ""I swear if it were not for the fact that we looked exactly alike I would say you were adopted..." Carefully he lifted his head pushing the cowl back and with little struggle he managed to rise upon his elbows. A disgusted groan left moved past his lips as the image of Brandon's look of pure innocence met his eyes followed by a theatrical play of words enhanced only by a single tear. "You have got to be kidding..."

Yes, he knew his sibling was but making a jest of him and what better way to get even as to play along. His lips moved sensually curving into a sympathetic smile, at the same time the pad of his thumb moved to roughly smear the tear away. He spoke then his voice rising in pitch and embellished with a strong lisp "Ah my dear Brandon...you know I would never think twice about putting myself in the path of any harm that might befall you." The long skeletal fingers of his other hand moved to grip tightly around his brother's thigh. "You know its been a long while since I last had a woman and with your weight pinning me so forcefully to the ground well...do you think maybe..." A long pause would be given before going on once again. "...perhaps not. But what better way to reward a hero than with a kiss of sincere gratitude in honor of his sacrifice..a deep long passionate kiss mind you..." Batting his long sooty lashes a fleshy hand moved to grip the back of Brandon's neck attempting to pull him downwards closer to his own overly moist puckered and waiting lips.

    (Branden)

Branden's attempt to fell his brother had worked perfectly. Not only had he been able to pin him to the ground but also cushion the fall, an added bonus. As he sat there perched sideways in his brother's lap the elder twin maintained the dramatic facade all the while observing the visible changes Brenden was going through. The first of course being shock mingled with the slightest hint of annoyance. Then came the all too familiar mischievous play they had both become so notorious for crafting. Branden and Brenden Black had at a very early age turned their love for such things into a fine art that they brandished at every opportunity. Even in those rare times life did not throw them the proper ques they would still find a way to drum up some of the most shocking strings of events that left many trails of freshly pulled hair.

Branden had always been considered the instigator a title he proudly upheld. Brenden while more of an introvert was never far behind. This time would of course be no exception as the younger twin quickly picked up the baton handed over by his elder brother and ran with it. The feel of that skeletal hand would make most cringe. The suggestive words would certainly be enough to send many shuddering. The promised kiss however now that was the perfect touch. A game of chicken had begun with Brenden throwing nearly all cards on the table. Would Branden be deterred or sent squimishly from his brothers lap? Not a chance in hell.

"Brenden," he matched the batting lashes stroke for stroke tossing in a breathlessness to his trembling voice, "your right it has been..so very..long." As he spoke the final portion of his sentence Branden delicately took his brothers altered appendage and began to slowly glide it up his own thigh until at last reaching the point of origin that his final word alluded too. "Oh Brenden how could I deny you ANYTHING!" Branden's arms flew around his brother's neck in reckless abandon and his left hand reached around to press tightly over Brenden's puckered lips. Throwing his weight into the embrace he attempted to bring his twin again off balance with the use of strength and sheer surprise. Immediately his head would dip Branden's own lips following through to plant a very wet sloppy kiss. Anyone viewing the scene even at close range would think the two where locked in the throws of passion however timed right the kiss would safely land on the back of Branden's own hand.

    (Demelza)

~ Sitting upon the window seat, the dark haired beauty focused her vision on the lands below, there was so much beauty to behold, in everything that surrounded her everyday. Many years had passed, and with those years her powers had grown and been honed to near perfection, and at last she had found her place in the world. Here in this place she had made a life, a real life, not the shadow of such she had lived for so long. She was a protector of those who resided in these lands, a teacher to the young mages who sought her counsel, a firend to thos who had with caring and guidance had brought her to this place, but most of all she was a happy and contented woman. She had found a man, a man true, honorble and most of all a man who loved her with every breath he took. That was the one treasure that this woman held dearer than any other, her greatest accomplishment, and her greatest pride.~

~ Her thoughts trailed over these things and many others as she watched the herds of animals move across sun drenched lands. Her true power had always come from the earth itself, this is why no matter how many times she beheld the power and beauty of nature, it still awed her, still caused her breath to still in her chest, for these things were eternal, though in constant flux, at their core they always remained the same. That was a truth that deserved reverance, though far too few actually saw or understood it. At times that made her sad, but mostly it made her focused, she wanted to show all she encountered this truth, to have them really see, and though it rarely came to pass, when she did open someones eyes to it, she knew she had done a good thing.~

~ Rising from her seat, she crossed the room giving herself a quick look in the mirror, she smiled. Not out of vanity, no she smiled because the reflection she saw was one that truly reflected who she was, and that meant something to her. Yes many years had passed and yet she had changed very little, her hair remianed as raven as ever, her eyes still the deep blue they had always been, bright and clear, no sign of the clouding that often came with aging, her skin still smooth and soft, without lines or sags. She smiled again turning from the mirror, she had been given a gift from nature itself, not immortality, but something very near. She aged as the earth itself aged, slowly almost imperceptibly, so that when change did come no one could be sure anything at all had happened.~

~ Seating herself in her favorite chair, she waited now, waited for Zaden's return and for another day to pass. Tucking a stray lock behind her ear, she folded her hands in her lap.....This is Demelza........

    (Star)

This day had been long...perhaps too long. Things just seemed to continuously go from bad to worse. The mornings council procession turned out to be an absolute horror...those details of such she could not even think of without feeling nauseous. How she wished she could toss that one damned pretentiously overblown emissary into the abyss for a day...just a single day no more. A bull in a china shop...that was the closest she could come in comparison to -that- man. Too bad her sons were not in attendance with this meeting as she would have definitely turned a blind eye and allowed them to go wild with performing their habitual council room antics. It surely would not have dragged on and on if they had been.

A deep sigh moved past icy pale lips...where were those little imps of hers anyways...she had not seen them all day. Although that thought had left her as soon as it came up having been replaced with the memory of the second trial that filled her day. Sparrow, her only student...the one she was both mentor and a kind of mother to. that meeting did not go as she had thought it would have. Perhaps she felt more discomforted for her student then angry that the girl managed to fail her trial test even after a full six months of training. All that time given in expert instruction gone to waste just because she was careless enough to fall out of a tree and into some strange man's lap. At least Sparrow got away with her life...as she explained it, it was a close call. She was not hard on the girl or so she thought...punishment was inevitable yes but not as severe as it could or should have been. This was most likely due to the fact that she herself felt much more responsible for her student's failure as she herself was the girl's instructor.

Yet another audible sigh moved past her lips at the same time her hand came up to scrape errant tendrils of midnight locks away from cool impassive features. Now was the time to put aside her reflections of this day so far. Mercurial spheres moved upwards towards the sky and judging the time by the sun's current position it was already late-afternoon. The usual time for the routine spar that took place between herself and Roblen only twice a month. A time for practice as well as learning keeping both their fighting skills well honed and finely tuned to constant perfection. Turning from her balcony she moved back within the opulent chambers she shared with her mate Daemon Black. A quick moment was taken as she armed herself with naught but her beloved shobu katana and a single sai blade...taking more then that would have been a waste as well as a burdensome weight to her as she fought. The traditional black outfit she wore during these practice spars followed by the matching tabi-boots complemented her small stature. Her mood was always a tad lighter when she was able to don her assassin's guise rather then the irritatingly tight court garb forced upon her daily.

Vaulting from her balcony she landed in a crouch upon the soft green flora blanketing her private resident gardens. Lifting up she moved towards its concealed center, where their personal practice ring stood. By now Roblen would most likely be there awaiting her days arrival. Moving further into the garden's sanctuary her attentions were taken aback by the sound of her son Branden's voice, seemingly not far off at that. "What the..." Head tilting slightly to listen closer she paused her steps. "Oh Brenden how could I deny you anything?" She quietly mouthed the words as the elder twin spoke them. Gods...what were they doing now!? And in a place they were strictly forbid to ever step foot in! Jaw clenched tightly in annoyance as a sharp throbbing began to beat against her left temple. Without a sound she moved into viewing distance of her sons...well doesn't this just take the cake?

Could this day get any worse? Sure it could...why not. Biting the soft flesh of her inner cheek she curbed the desire to verbally snap out their names. Instead she moved up behind Branden who was...~shivers~... straddled upon Brenden's lap. Gods...please don't let them 'actually' be kissing...Frigid silver orbs caught and held the gaze of the younger twin as her right hand curled tightly into the shirt cuff just at the base of the elder's neck and hoisted him up and off like a mother cat lifting an errant kitten. "What...is the...meaning of this...!" Her tone rose with each spoken word. "What mischief do you two seek to cause?" Bunching her sleeve into her left hand she moved to wipe the cloth roughly across Branden's lips. Her gaze moved to slide in disgusted disbelief from one to the other a few times before finally coming to rest upon Branden's features. "You! Instigator...explain this NOW!"

    (Zaden)

So much time be passin' since the time I could no be walkin' on me own bu' no matter how much time be passin' I still found meself on the move most o' the time. When I no be sleepin' o' spendin' time wit' me bonnie blue eyed lass I could be found in the woods o' on the grounds o' our new home. Truth be told I even be jumpin' at the job the Empress be offerin' me o' scout 'cause i' be keepin' me busy runnin' aroun'. That be a fine day indeed the day me lass an' I be approach' the Empress o' Eternal. We bot' be so proud ta be offered positions in her new home but i' be the fact that she be offerin' those places her own self. That's right we no be talkin' ta one o' her court that day we be talkin' direc'ly ta her. Like I be sayin' that be some time ago but I guess it be one o' those things ya never be forgettin'.

I had been out early doin' the rounds when I be lookin' up ta see that me lass should be awake an' waitin' for me ta return. that be when I be headin' back ta the castle at a dead run only slowin' down when I be comin' through the kitchen doors. Lookin' aroun' I saw some bread just comin' out o' the ovens an' some cheese that be freshly made. I tells ya I no be waistin' time as that be the perfect breakfast so I be snatchin' a loaf an' good size chunk o' that cheese. Then with a wink an' a smile ta the cooks I be runnin' again takin' the stairs two a' a time.

I be comin' ta a stop just in front o' our room an' the smile could not be stopped as I t'oug't o' what be waitin' fer me on the other side o' the door. Shiftin' the bread I opened the door lettin' me eyes feast on the most bonnie lass that ever be walkin' the green. "'ello lass I hope I no be keepin ya waitin' too long. Ifn I did I be bringin' ya breakfas' an' kisses ta be makin' i' up ta ya."

    (Demelza)

~ A smile to shame the sun itself bloomed on her lips as he made his apologies, though he had done nothing wrong. Rising from the chair, she closed the distance between them taking the food from his hands and setting it side for the moment. Deep blue eyes settled on his, and slender arms encircled his neck.~ Not long at all, but I'll take that kiss anyway. ~ Hands tangled in his silken hair, bringing his lips to her own....soft as satin, and sweet as sugar were those lips that lingered upon his for long moments. She loved him, and never was that love more evident then when she kissed him. Drawing back the smile returned~ So is all well this fine morning? ~ She queried knowing he had allready made his morning rounds.~

~ Gathering the food, it was divided and placed upon the table, she sat as he began to speak. It did her heart so much good to see him so happy and vibrant. The time after he had been injured had been hard on him, and had taken much out of them both, but in the end they had both become stronger for it...stronger indivually, and stronger together. Those times had tested many to their very limits, and some had broken, but not these two, their strength came from a place deep within, and had stood despite sometime overwhelming odds that it would, nay could not. All of that now seemed a distant memory, for that she was greatful.~

~ They had their place now, their home, somewhere they truly belonged. The Empress had be most benevolent with them, not only allowing them to reain within her home, but granting them the honor of holding position within it.This was not something that was taken lightly. Both took their duties very seriously, and endeavored to perform them to the best of their ability each day....never would they forget how lucky they both were to have been granted such a gift, and neither would ever take it for granted, nor disappoint those who had bestowed it upon them.~

    (Roblen)

Muscles coiled and released in fluid motion as the master assassin sprung from tree top to tree top. Feet touched only briefly to each allowing only a small portion of his weight to be given to the thin sapling branches giving them just enough tension to aid in the next launch. Knees tucked tightly as the final leap was made causing a tightly balled form to turn within the air before landing silently on the castle wall. Crouching in place he remained perfectly still calling on each heightened sense to high alert; if anything living were near he would know. A curtain of long raven locks concealed features set in an icy death mask and the rest of the body was covered in black leather. Natural shadows clung to the statuesque form making detection by the naked eye nearly impossible. Feet shifted pushing off the unyielding stone sending his back within a fraction of an inch of the wall as the ground raced rapidly upward to meet descending boots. Again the body would return to the crouch coiling like a cobra preparing to strike. Senses sought out all living things within this garden retreat. Voices could be heard and immediately traced to each individual owner. Other then the nearby coy and other by products of nature these three were the only intruders. Mouth twitched in a ghostly hint of mirth and the body uncoiled to stand. Arms hung loosely at his side and his feet began to whisper over the landscape toward the inner circle. Reaching into a pouch with his right hand his left hand prepared a thin paper to accept the cherry scented tobacco. Fingers deftly rolled the paper before placing it to parting lips. A tender box retrieved lit the end the tip burning brightly with a deep inhalation of the lungs. Nostrils flared exhaling the smoke onto the awaiting breeze. It would be the one and only calling card left letting the Empress know their spar was now officially late.

    (Branden)

The elder Black twin had become so wrapped up frivolities with his brother that he had forgotten himself, literally. It was not until he felt the firm hand of his mother pulling him from his brother that Branden felt the full force of his actions. The rough swipe of her sleeve over his mouth might as well have been the back of her hand striking him brutally for it struck a blow straight to his heart. Instantly the merriment of a moment before was forgotten and Branden went limp his head bowing in shame. Any other time they would have all laughed together. Any other time she would have been his beloved mother or even his Empress. Right now she was the teacher he had failed..miserably.

"Simu," the word came quickly even though he felt as though he would choke on his own bile. Keeping his eyes averted to the ground Branden began to give an account of his failure. "The task set before me began this morning and was successful until I came within 2 leagues of the castle. As I passed through the forest a woman fell from the trees into my lap. There was a brief interaction ending with her release. I proceeded to the servants entrance of the castle where the under belly strap of my saddle broke sending me to the ground. I then attempted to use my training to enter your garden in order to take you by surprise. That is when Brenden appeared below the tree I had concealed myself within calling for me to come down. I fell from the tree and forgot myself." All the cuts and bruises of the day where nothing compared to the final words spoken. "I have failed you Simu."

    (Zaden)

How could I no be smilin' when t'at lass be kissin' me like t'at. I tells ya from the firs' kiss she be givin' me back in the fores' ta this kiss there be no difference atall. I still be feelin' the same butterflies an' t'at same chill goin' up me spine everytime. even after she be pullin' back I still be tastin' her sweet strawberry lips an' smellin' the precious smell o' her perfume. There be nothin' more t'at I could be askin' for in life then the love o' this bonnie lass.

"I took me turn aroun' the grounds an' inta the forest then came back by the lake on me way back here. Everythin' be in order with no problems t'at I can be seein' as yet but the day still be young lass." I sat meself down next ta me girl sos we could at least be pickin' at our breakfast tagether. "Wha' be on your schedule taday? Do ya have plans o' do I get ta be stealin' ya away with me?" I gave her me best wink an' smile then I be sittin' back just a hopin'.

Resident's Chambers Empty Re: Resident's Chambers

Post  Admin Mon Aug 16, 2010 7:56 pm

    (Mercedes)

It has started out to be a busy day so far, Mercedes felt as she had just got finished looking over a room. With her position in this rebuilt home so many years ago, she had taken it as a personal responsability to know for a fact that the rooms she may send guests to are appropriate for guest usage. To ensure as comfortable a stay in this beloved halls as humanly possible, she wrote every note down that her eyes could possibly sport, her flaming red hair tied up in a ponytail to keep it out her way. Marking down which room was which, and the condition that the room was in. Exact details to be passed on to the appropriate members of the staff to take care of.

Usually, the cleaning crew done a precise job, to keep from having to redo the room at her request. Just in case she had missed something of critical note. There were times that she was called a cleaning nazi, and today would be one of those days that she will Nazi. The reason that she is taking so much time and being so critical of the rooms is that she was notified of an expected arrival. One who would eventually be general of the armies. A good first impression is a must, and if the room she is handed the key for is a mess, usually meant that the red-head had failed to do her job. So today one would say she was behind in this regular check, believing that the expected arrival would be arriving much later in the day. Unfortunatly, that would not be the case, as the woman was just entering the halls, greeting those she first seen in her new home.

    (Saura)

Eyes the color of Mystic topaz were engaged in thecorrections of her daughter’s translations. The years had been kind to Saura, she still radiated with the beauty that flowed from the inside out. Heaven hadblessed her with a wonderful husband that still set her heart ablaze after 20years, and three beautiful children-Leonidas II, which she called Nanda whichmeans joy in Hindi, Darren, whom she called Singh which means lion, andSaffron-Kanta which translated means beautiful. Saura was now the imperialambassador and passion for her work grew with each passing day. She lovedforeign policy and awoke each morning eager to make a difference…after ofcourse, eagerness of another kind was satisfied.

Fortunately today was light on negotiations as Riva hadtaken on the bulk of the campaigns this time. In fact, she’d been gone for somemonths now. Curiosity crept into her mind as she wondered how they were going, hopefully well. Then again, Riva had always taken very good care of business-soworry would most definitely be a waste of time. Saura had more time on herhands than usual because she had nothing pressing to do, it was almost nervewracking to not be pulled in several directions at once.

A caramel sigh escaped her lungs. Her husband had risenbefore she’d awakened and a particularly nice dream had left her completelyfrustrated when she rolled over to embrace a cold pillow. Oh well, translations. Finishing her daughter’s corrections, she could see that she’ddone much better than last time-it looked like her brother had been heeding hismother’s suggestions to tutor Saffron. Looking through the small stack ofparchment, she could see that Darren had once again neglected to turn his workin on time and with a disappointed shake of her silken truffle colored locks, she started scan Leo’s work for mistakes-though, he hadn’t made any for months.

    (Devlin)

Devlin woke up from slumber in his rooms at the castle. Iridescent crimson hues opened up quickly as if something had disturbed him. In fact, nothing had. But he had slept and rested long enough. He had traveled back from A'zyrla about 30 hours ago full of dust and riding astride Sabbath as if the devil where after him. Not stopping for rest along the way. Once he was back, he took care of what he had to, which took a little over six hours as he took stock, revised the inventory and ordered whatever was needed for the Imperial Castle to run smoothly. After that in which he supervised the servants to see what had been neglected and delegated a few more tasks or switched them around for more efficiency. Then it was blessed sleep. Much needed as the ride was quite long and tiring. He would've left earlier or even rode a bit more faster except for the fact that his last few days at home had been rather hard. He was learning to control what would come every quarterly when the moon rose to it's bright fullness. But that was it... He was still learning and now paying the price for his folly. But nothing ventured was nothing gained.

He sat up and as he did so, air escaped his lungs quickly in one rush. Apparently he wasn't quite healed enough yet. He looked down upon his torso where the sheets had fallen away and saw the not so deep gauges right underneath his ribs on the left side. Whoever had harmed him... Well, he didn't have time to investigate... Whatever it was, the bitch had gotten away this time. But next time, he would be ready for her and he had a mind to go hunting. Damn it. He hated to kill, and perhaps he may not have to. But a werewolf in A'zyrla would be the last thing the citizens needed. It was one thing when it was him, another thing if there was someone else. Once the phase was over, he had sneaked into the castle's offical documentary librarium where all records where reported and had gone through the list. There wasn't one he could put a finger on. But that wasn't surprising to him. Even he wasn't on the list. One, cause he really wasn't one and two it would just be a pain in the arse if he was seen outside on one of those phases and be questioned about it by lord knows who. It was simply easier to just not be known.

His thoughts traveled home for a few moments... A'zyrla... He loved it... And yet the beautiful realm had a tyrant of a king. A real piece of work who wasn't fit at all. The commoners were getting restless and small riots were being formed. Not that it did any good as the soldiers simply rounded them up and were jailed for their impertinence. One day... Someone was going to have had enough and just over turn him. Unless of course, he happened to die, which would be a great thing all in all. The king may have had a few heirs laying about, but they were rarely seen. Devlin wasn't looking forward to the time when it did happen. That was another mess, but according to Cypress she had her fingers well into that pie, so he wasn't too worried about it.

He sighed as his musings had turned towards his brother. Cypress had innovative ideas. And some of them took a long time to be put into effect. Just about now, Riker should've made his first impression upon the Umbra Maledictio in one way or another. To make them notice him and try to get him into their fold. Devlin shouldn't have worried for when he had seen his brother, he was a little changed, tougher, crueller. He didn't agree with it, but knew it was necessary if he were to pull this off. He looked better, though it did take some getting used it. Riker had gone and cut off his long hair and now it stood on end in many different wayward directions. It suited him at least for he had to evolve and basically get rid of the 'Vindictious' look to go under cover.

Shaking his head to get rid of the thoughts and focus on other things, Devlin carefully got out of bed to get ready for the day ahead.

    (Brenden)

Brenden was well into his and Branden's mischievous play none to aware that their mother was actually in attendance. At least not until the moment he gathered himself to push his twin from his lap. As he opened his eyes his gaze was immediately engulfed into his mother's glacial stare. "My...lady..." Was all he managed to croak before Branden was forcefully pulled up and off of him and held securely by the scruff of his neck. If it wasn't for Branden's mortified look he would have definitely cracked a smile...but then what's to say he couldn't now? This could be a nice payback for all the times the elder twin sought to humiliate him and on many occasions did. A shiver of revulsion coursed through his tall frame as the memory of that hideous troll lady in the woods that Branden had 'fixed' him up with came to mind. What was it his brother had said? "A virgin of great beauty..." Yeah right! "Ugh..." Listening to his mothers tirade he took a moment to untangle the darkened adepts robes that wrapped around his ankles and legs during his fall.

Pushing himself up he stepped back a few paces all the while watching the ongoing scene before him. "Yeah Branden...how could you k...kiss me like that. I am ashamed...my own brother! Gods!" Was the temperature actually starting to drop? Midnight orbs moved over his mother noticing the frosty brume that misted past her lips. Uh oh...time to go. His glance then went to his brother at the same time the side of his fist lifting to thump against his chest. "Your my boy Branden! But you see...I just got to go. Remember..were just dust in the wind, bro...dust in the wind." Lifting his altered hand above his head as lengthy skeletal digits curled into a tight fist he again called upon the churning portal that opened into the shadow plane. Without wasting another moment he quickly stepped through the gateway and practically slammed it shut behind him. Now...where to go...? A grin crossed his features as he made up his mind and began to step through the desert like plane. "I should be safe enough here until the commotion dies down...I hope." The next instant he stepped from the portal directly into the fiery depths of his grandfather's abyss.

    (Demelza)

~ Tucking a bit of bread between her lips she listened as he spoke, glad to hear that by his estimation at least, all was well~ That is very good news indeed, I believe all within this realm have had enough mayhem to last them a millenia. ~ Swallowing the last bit of the food, she appeared to ponder his question for sometime. At heart Demelza had a streak of mischief in her, and at times loved to draw out things unnecesassarily just for the sport of it....this was one of those times.Truthfully she had no real plans for the day, though she had noticed so anamolies in the movements of the herds recently, and intended to discover if this were any cause for concern. That however could easily be done with him. At last she gave a brilliant smile, a spark in those azure eyes~ Oh, I believe my schedule is open for the most part. ~ She replied, the brest hin of tease in her voice.~

~ Settling back in her chair, she ran slender fingers through raven locks, letting a long contented breath out.~ So what shall we do this day? ~ She queried, a leg swinging lazily over the arm of her chair~

    (Star)

Amelee's attentions were completely focused upon that of her eldest twin, so much so that the rather hasty departure of her youngest almost had gone unnoticed...almost. Pale lips twisted in annoyance as her mind touched over that of her mate Daemons sending him the image of his son followed by the ground out, "Get him." There...that would definitely take care of that problem, now back Branden. Shimmering pools of silver moved over her son's remorseful features as he continued speaking of his days trial. Yet another who spent six months in rigorous training for this moment only to fall through and fail at the last moment. Tapered digits uncurled slowly from their hold upon the cuff of his shirt releasing him. "A woman...fell into your lap..." This was not posed as a question but instead a statement. Earlier during Sparrow's explanation of the day's events she had wondered upon the identity of this mystery man whom her young pupil had come in contact with. And here putting two and two together the mystery finally unfolded before her. So...Branden and Sparrow had through an unfortunate accident met during their time of testing and both had failed due to the other. If the situation was not so tense the Empress would have most likely cracked a smile.

"So..." Amelee's tone was light even though it carried with it the frigid intensity of her eyes. "...you believe that the strap of your saddle broke? Merely broke?" A pause was given as her fingers moved carefully over the many abrasions that dotted his shoulder and chest. "I believe this girl had somehow gotten the better of you....she cut the cinch didn't she? How did she manage to do this Branden?" Of course she herself knew as this was Sparrow they were speaking of. The girl could be very sneaky and underhanded, a trait she liked well within her students. Glancing back up into his features she moved to await his answer but instead was interrupted by something faintly familiar reaching out to touch her mind. It was not until the word, "Mother." had timidly brushed against her thoughts...she knew then exactly who it was. Even though her features paled noticeably her expression remained inscrutable. How could Fayte be here and why? How was she able to find Eternal once again? The many questions roiled through her mind one after the other. No matter...if the girl thought she would be welcomed home with open arms she had another thing coming. How dare she come back here...

A single hand rose motioning Branden to quiet. "I will speak with you on this matter later as there is another that requires my attention. Go now to my private arena and give Lord Roblen my apologies...the spar will have to be postponed. And kindly inform him that you need a lesson. No...tell him you need to be taught a lesson." With a last look she turned away and quickly moved towards the solid granite stair leading upwards into the castle main. A simple command was sent Kaden's way ordering the Shadowknight General to await her just outside the main doors leading out onto the castle grounds.

    (Dante)

After striding into and through the dark airless void they were promptly deposited upon the threshold of the chamber's open balcony, home sweet home. Breathless he pulled slightly back...the thrumming of his heart beat a rhythmic tempo against his chest. "Here we are, my love." Ensanguined spheres gazed deeply into her own followed by that ever familiar satirical smirk. Half a dozen steps forward brought them to the edge of the luxurious four poster bed they shared when duty chose not to call.

Taking care he turned and sat easily adjusting Rivanna into a more comfortable position as she perched now upon his lap. Lifting his hand into the air lengthy digits grasped firmly around the heated silver chalice that appeared levitating beside the couple. "Drink...my sweet." Swirling the thickened acidic contents he brought it's rim to rest against the fullness of her lips. At the same time a single aciculated claw slid delicately downwards over the vulnerable flesh of her throat leaving in its wake a thin curor flecked welt. Nostrils flaring slightly he took in the powerful heady scent that could only belong to his lifemate.

    (Zaden)

We be enjoyin' a quiet breakfas' just the two o' us an' I be just findin' out t'at I be gettin' ta keep me lass with me all day. Right abou' t'en be when I be hearin' somethin' outside the garden facin' window. Lookin' away from me Lass I be seein' a tile fall off the roof. I tells ya I think I be jumpin' from me chair straight onta the window ledge cause I be there in time ta be seein' someone fallin' right past me. "No." I can no' be tellin' ya the hows o' why's o' it but when I be seein' t'at lad fall it no be the lad fallin' no more it be me. It be like his fall be takin' me back ta the time I be fallin' off t'at temple all over again. "NO!" Lookin' back I knew somewhere in me mind t'at it no be me an' t'at there be not'in' I could be doin' ta stop t'at boys fall bu' right then there be no one t'at could tell me as I be watchin' him. One o' me hands be grippin' the wall an' I tells ya I think t'at be the only t'ing keepin' me from divin' after the boy cause the rest o' me be leanin' out the window reachin' for him.

    (Demelza)

~ Leaping fom her own chair as Zaden landed upon the sill, Demelza just caught sight of the falling figure. Unable to tell whether it was a male or female or even if it was a person, Demelza herself ran to the window leaning out. She could just see the young man, as he disappeared into some sort of mist. A flash came to her blue eyes, and in an instant her voice rose to a near shout~ Aero Ascencio ~ She called. The winds instantly responded to her call, swirling into a mighty updraft. Frantically she scanned the area below their window, no one could survive that fall, and since she had not been able to see her target, she could not be sure if she the spell would work, or if the boy would fall broken and dead upon the hard ground below. This is when she noticed the look upon her beloved Zaden's features.~

~ Gently she placed a hand upon his arm, her voice now once more calm, soothing, she spun her words carefully into his mind~ It is allright My Love, come down, we have done what we can. ~ She knew that he was remembering his own fall, when he had fallen ending up broken and battered, and that at this moment it was as real to him as it had been then.~ Come then, let us go down and see if there is anything we can do. ~ She continued, tugging gently upon his arm, urging him to come off the window sill. It pained her deeply to see him still so affected by what had happened. He had done what he had in defense of people he barely knew, and for no other reason than she had asked him to. It had been her fault, and he had very nearly paid the ultimate price for it, and for that se could never truly forgive herself.....moments like these reminded her exactly why that was.~

    (General Leonidas)

The General watched the brief interaction taking place between the residents and the newest arrival. When he had first learned about the General he had taken note of her unique background. With the help of his wife he began reading all available materials he could find that would give him at least an insight about her. This would be his first encounter with her race let alone a human who chose to be "reborn" within it and the last thing he would want is to unknowingly insult her in some way. A few things the years of experience had taught the man though was that a. take all you read with a grain of salt and b. no amount of reading will ever take the place of an actual live interaction. Authors no matter how through they may be will always miss out on something usually something hugely important. Where diplomatic measures are concerned the smallest detail could mean the difference between a friendly first meeting or a deadly encounter. By the looks of General Tahwee the latter would be something better off avoided.

Leonidas lead the new arrival up the stairs and through the maze of corridors. There were many levels to the castle itself as well as the various wings designated by the length of stay or rank a resident held. As they passed through the various halls he would explain points of interest such as the knight's quarters, the private studies, and the libraries. As they wound their way upward they came at last to the staircase leading to the top level of the home. "This leads to the Imperial wing where the Royal family reside. The entire upper level is dedicated to their privacy and comfort. There is also a set of rooms for the God of Mischief, Dark Lord Roan Silvermane, should he visit the castle." He paused a moment before motioning directly over head. "The Empress's private chambers are positioned right above the throne room with a secreted stair well that allows her complete privacy when entering or exiting ether area. It also allows her access to her private garden's both designed as well as created by her husband Lord Daemon Black." Stepping to the side Leonidas motioned to a set of rooms to the left of the staircase. These will be your quarter's General. They consist of a private study as well as sleeping chambers. My family and I are within this wing to the right of the stairs. Between the two of us the Empress is well protected while within these walls." Leonidas allowed his explanation time to sink in before raising his fist to thud soundly on his chest and deliver a deep bow of respect. "This is where I will leave you to get settled. I will return just after sun set in order to bring you before the Empress."

The General would wait for a returned farewell then turn on his heels to walk the few steps down the hall to where his wife was reportedly working on the children's lessons. A smile immediately came to his lips as he tucked the roses his daughter had given him behind his back and reached out opening the study door. As the door swung inward Leonidas was gifted with the beauty of his wife causing the smile to grow even broader. Crossing the threshold he closed the door behind him then crossed the floor to where she sat. It did not take long for the husband to reach his wife where upon he took to one knee pulling the roses out from behind his back and presenting them to her. "M'lady please accept this humble gift as a token of your husbands deep and abiding affection for his beloved wife."

    (Branden)

Branden felt the full force of his shame sending revulsion and disgust to coarse through his being. He had failed her dishonoring her not only as his teacher but as his mother. Branden had grown up as the elder of the two twins born to Eternal's Empress and her Consort. While all boys grow up picking a favored parent Branden had chosen his mother for many reasons. Her face had always been the first he saw in the morning when he rose to learn of her be it lessons on life or lessons on the ways of the assassin. She had also been the last face he saw before going to sleep as she had always been the one to ensure the boys were safely in their beds. She was also the Empress of the lands ruling over them with grace and wisdom. As his Simu she had passed down her knowledge of ancient fighting arts with integrity and honor. There was no one Branden loved more then Amelee DeFanel Black even his beloved twin took a back seat. Because of this deep seeded devotion he was taking all of this very hard.

"Simu." The word was spoken reverently and he gave a sharp bow showing his understanding of her instructions. Outwardly he held himself upright that he may not bring further dishonor either of them by showing how he truly felt. Without hesitation he began to walk toward the inner sanctum of the private garden to where he knew Roblen would be waiting. Already Branden could smell the familiar scent of his cherry tobacco mingling with the fragrant flowers. Rounding one of the tall topiaries he would stop at the circles outer edge, lower to his knees, place both palms down on the path with thumb and index fingers touching, and lower his forehead to touch the ground. "Master, Simu sends her regret that she is unable to attend and apologizes that the spar must be postponed." Pulling back his hands would now rest on his thighs but Branden's eyes remained lowered. "She has also asked that I be taught a lesson."

I felt me legs give ou' beniet' me jus' w'en the boy be enterin' the mists an' Ifn i' 'ad no' been fer me lass I would have been fallin' righ' behind him. I swears I even ha' the lack o' feelin' in them as I be hittin' the floor o' our room. Pull yerself taget'er lad it no be ye t'is time. I close' me eyes tight tryin' ta pull meself out o' the memories an' wit' a shake o' me head I opened me eyes an' looked inta those bonnie blues. "Fergive me lass. Jus' as soon as I be standin' me arms be wrappin' tight around me lass an' holdin' her like t'ere be no tamarrow. "I love ya Demelza Glenn wit' me heart an' soul. (Gaz)

General Tahwee'ki-gaz was very attentive as they moved steadily upward, eyes catching now and then on a picture or a ornament as she took mental stock of landmarks and other ways to guide herself in the future. Hers were not the eyes of an uncertain stranger, though they now and then did pause on a structure or art with a quizzical expression. She semed at home in winding halls and the seperation of whole families into sepecific wings rather than seperate buildings. While more lavish than she was accustomed to, it was still much more practical than the stories tended to portray such dwellings. As each area was described to her, she would give a nod of understanding, though any questions would wait until later. There would be more than enough time to ask and answer questions later once things had settled.

She seemed to approve that their dwellings rested on either side of the staircase, providing a buffer between the private chambers of the royal family and the rest of the building. It made good sence... close to their Muth Mauk's arrangements. Though Muth Mauk kept her closest generals in a ring of rooms attached directly to her own chamber. It made more sence than her mentors descriptions of barracks and the generals completely seperate from the Hall. Now that made no sence.

Before she had come, the instructor had taken great pains to introduce her to several inevitable concepts she was to face. One of them being where and how living places were set up. So there was none of the speechless appall or protest that would have followed had she been unaware. Squared off walls, a strange padded cot of sorts, and no hearthfire. "So it is true. They do not sleep in Muth la's embrace.." she thought to herself in silence as she studied the room. At least her teacher had the foresight to alert her to the fact well in advance, so it was a calm acceptance rather than a stunned confusion that would be on her face.

Regarding the General after a moment, she would give him a polite bow, "I am new to many things of this land. I ask your patience. Thankyou for your aid general." She'd return his bow as he excused himself. "Shisav... thankyou General Leonidas."

Once he had left to take care ofhis own tasks, she unshouldered her bag, puttingit on the padded box.. a 'bed'. She recalled her mentor always slept on his back when the were in the field, which was a practice usually reserved for the very young and the very ill. Perhaps it was a common practice in these lands to sleep laying down rather than in the crossed legged position she knew well. She looked over the room to debate how best to use her time. Taking notice of the window, she would pull back the curtain and take a deep breath of the breeze that wafted into the room. Blinking several times as the bright light assaulted her eyes. Leaning out, she would admire the distance one could see from this height.

Hmm? What was this? If memory served her right, one of the youths she had just been introduced to was in the arms of another young male, though it was difficult to know for a certain fact at this height. Two young males entangled in each others arms was not a totally unheard of thing... Sudenly people were rushing to their location, and the boy ... raven if memory served.. was rolling away from the other male as they were sudenly the center of a lot of attention. Even at this distance the boy looked downcast and chastized. Their mothers must not approve of the relationship... not a huge surprise as it would not bring daughters into their homes. Despite it, the other male leaned in to give young Raven a resasuring nuzzle... or thats how she thought it was from the height and distance she was observing. There seemed to be no peril in the scene, so she politly withdrew back into her room to let the locals sort things out on their own.

Rummaging through her bag , she'd pull out a jar of a thick black paste of some sort and a writer's brush, measuring out the area with a critical gaze.

    (Demelza)

~ Demelza melted into his embrace, loving the feel of his closeness. Hearing his words she tilted her head to him, matching her blue eyes with his, a smile blooming once more upon her lips.~ And I love you Zaden Glenn, with all that I am. ~ As they made their way to the grounds she too gave a silent prayer to find the young one unharmed~

    (( Moving To Castle Grounds))

    (Saura)

While deep in concentration, the sound of the study door opening took Saura's attention away from her son's translations and toward the entrance. Deep chocolate curls neatly arranged in her usual elegant updo shifted as her deeply expressive orbs scan the door to see who it was that was entering. Meanwhile, the shift in her seat caused the ornate fabric of her garnet and gold colored sari to glide down the silken skin of her sun-kissed shoulder.
A devilish smile crossed the full pillows of her lips upon the extremely alluring sight of her husband, obviously fresh from sparring, crossing the threshold. The look of utmost love and admiration that they had come to recognize from 20 years of marriage crossed her bronzed features. "Roses. Beautiful." A caramelized tone flowed forth in a timbre that they both were extremely fond of. Gently, slender fingers reached out and took the bouquet and bringing one up to take in the pleasing fragrance, she smiled.
fiery mystic topaz gemstones still gazing into the eyes of her husband, the bloom of the slender rose traced down her neckline and across her collar bone. She stood gracefully, the bloom traveling over to just under the chiseled jaw of her husband with the intention of raising him up... in more ways than one. Low tones sounded in response for his ears only, "I accept." Then moving tantalizingly close to his lips, the sweet breath of her lungs whispers "Good sir, This wife has a not so humble gift for her husband." She would stay just as she was, her scent teasing him until he could take no more. She loved that after 20 years she still had the ability to drive him out of his mind, for he certainly had that effect on her.

Resident's Chambers Empty Re: Resident's Chambers

Post  Admin Mon Aug 16, 2010 7:57 pm

    (Riva)

Deadly fingers toyed with a rare affection at the soft mane of hair as her limbs where wound tight around the hard frame of her mate, vermillion never leaving crimson as they traversed the plane and finally came to rest in their chambers, the scent coursing memories to flood pleasantly back to the fore of her mind. Yes, they had had their ups and downs it had always been a volatile union but the last two decades had mellowed them both, she herself was nearing 700 and finally had some reign over that fiery temper. Settling herself upon his lap fingers slowly unwinding from about his shoulders and one hand coming to rest over the emblazoned part of his chest, the other set of digits winding about the challis and lifting it to her dark stained lips.

At that moment Raven flew passed the window on a high velocity swan dive, this caused a single brow to lift before her eyes closed and he shook her head, ebon locks lightly teasing at the bare flesh of her shoulders “stupid boy” she muttered softly before finally taking a sip from the cup. The sharp talon at her ivory flesh caused a sharp inhale eyes flashing, how ever momentarily, black as night before a rare smile slithered across those full plump lips. “You hunger my mate?” that saccharine velvet tone spilling like venom from a snakes fangs her free index finger lifting and drawing across the welt in her flesh the sticky, sweet, intoxicating fluid clinging to her finger tip. Lifting her hand and smearing it across her life mate’s lips. “You did not feed while you where away?”

    (Darren)

shoulder rolled in its socket bringing a sharp pain to coarse down the bearer's arm. Well imagine that, his brother had landed at least one blow. What was that twice this year. A smirk came as he shook off the pain teaching his mind to enjoy it rather then wince away. Darren had just come from a day of training the latter half spent attempting to hone his elder brother's skills. It was an act of futility but he was after all Darren's older brother. Besides how else was he going to get him to tutor him in translations? The gods knew that for all the abilities he had on the field he equally lacked in the class room. Give him a bow and he could thread the eye of a needle at 50 paces. Give him a staff and he could make it dance. Give Darren a sword and he could bloody well make it sing. Give him a text book of any other language or ancient text and you might as well forget it. It was as if each son had been given all of one talent and none of the other. This had been a great frustration to their father as he had firmly planted in his mind that the first born absolutely MUST follow in his footsteps. Never mind the fact that Leo wanted to be an alchemist specializing in translations. The boy was an idiot savant at times where those damn parchments were concerned. Never mind that he would DIE to be able to take over when it was time for his father to retire. Hell he was his own idiot savant on the field if he did say so himself. He had really hoped to catch General Kaden. If anyone could talk some sense into his father it would be that man. Darren was even willing to go so far as to challenge the great man to a spar if need be. Instead his father had taken up the General's entire day with his own training. For the love of Roan how much more training did his father need?!

Letting out a long slow breath he continued down the hallway leading to the family's private chambers. Darren knew his mother would still be going over their papers in the library and since he couldn't talk to Kaden he thought maybe she could help. His thoughts had begun to roll over what he would say when something on the grounds caught his attention. Turning his head Darren stepped back to the nearest window leaning on the ledge to get a better view. "What the.." He blinked several times even going so far as to rub his eyes with both his fists until he began to see star's but nothing helped because when he opened his eyes again the same image remained. "You have GOT to be kidding me!"

Pushing off the ledge Darren took off at a dead run toward the room at the end of the hall. He didn't even slow down as he drew near the door but rather turned sideways sliding to a halt a few inches past. "Mom, you better have a look in the garden.." he had begun to speak even as he turned the handle. Bursting into the room as he did gave those inside very little time to react or alter what they were doing at the time. Not that they would anyway but hey its a thought. "OH COME ON!" Apparently his father had beat him to the punch yet again. Instead of finding his mother sitting at her desk pouring over parchments both his parents where there making out for crying out loud. Throwing his hands in the air Darren simply rolled his eyes and exited the room. It would seem he was going to have to take care of this himself.

    (Mercedes)

Mercedes had finally reached a stopping point in her checking of the rooms when she glanced outside. Seems people were approaching the castle. It was a good thing that she was done with her inspections then. Perhaps one of those was the coming general that she was expecting to arrive. Taking a breath of relief that she had finished on time, she had turned to leave the last room, to put her list away, to move to the castle main area to greet guests. Hearing Leonidas' voice explaining the different areas of the castle a look of horror had crossed her face.

OMG!!! She was LATE!!! Too slow and now someone else had done her job for her!!! Even though this occurance is rare that she was too slow in completing the tasks before her, Mercedes was still appauled with herself. She was embarassed with herself, as she didn't know what else to do at the moment. She needed to meet and greet with the new general, as that was a part of her duties to know who was who, but she needed also to greet the guests of the home! What was she to do!?!?!

There were a couple others that tended to cover for her while Mercedes' job had pulled her in multiple directions like one of those octopus' that she has heard about from other travelers. Perhaps if they were still there, they would be able to cover for her while she had went to go meet with the new general. Welcome her like what is a part of the job. Though she considered the other workers here to be friends as well, it was never considered just a job to go and talk with them. So she went towards the upper levels, and made it up there not long after Leonidas departed to greet his wife and to give Gaz time to begin to work. Tapping lightly on the door, Mercedes hoped that she wasn't interupting anything.

    (Gaz)

Gaz would look up from her crouching position as she heard a noise, gazing this way and that to find its source. Realising it came from the doorway, she would straighten and regard the half finished circle that had been painted so carefully. It would not take long for the paste to dry, and should be much more acceptable than hacking a similar circle into the floor directly. One group had done that once in similar arrangements and the hosts had not smelled pleased, and made faces that were described as 'angry'. It had taken her much council with her elders to find a more suitable method. At least with the paint, she'd be able to sleep as custom dictated and still leave the floor undamaged.

"In... In-ter." She would say as she resealed the jar, at a loss of what else to do. She wracked her brain for the one of hundreds of different little customs that made up life in these lands. She felt a twinge of vexation in the back of her mind. She had been taught how to counter 37 different attacks, disable 14 types of traps, track a man over stone on a trail three days dead. Seven disarming stances, four counterattacks, 11 pressure points, and even how to parry a wizard's spell or a mental enchantment. So how in all that was holy did her mentor forget to teach her how to invite someone in her damn room?? "It iz open."

    (Kat)

Sulking grand scale temper tantrum was still in play he stalked the shadows high and low. Leave it to his clumsy ways he had became an errant lost little slave boy. He had lost that scent of his Mistress's long ago. Only recently has he picked up that scent so heavy and redolent it rolled to him in waves. A heady scent but so low key only a creature such as he could even fathom this. So with as much care as he could muster darted lightly through the shadows.

Upon getting to where he needs to be he tumble and trip over his own velvet paws and come crashing out of the shadows. Not a glamours or for that matter perfect cat landing. No it was rather humilating indeed that he came tumbling out of the shadows like a newborn kit just learning to walk. Whats this another scent rolled with his Mistress's own personal scent. Something new in his eyes but its not his place to argue. Guess he has a Master to greet but this was not the way to do that. Oh this was entirely wrong so sloppy and ill concieved.

Then the hormons finally slid into his brain the scent assailing his nostrils very much akin like smelling a she cat in heat. That alone made his nostrils flare and his lips curl back in such abhorence at what he had accidently stumbled into. His paws shot forward covered his eyes quickly " Forgive me please forgive. boy didnt mean to interrupt Mistress Riva." Good lord in hells bells he didnt mean to walk into a potential mateing dance. He is a bad kitty yes a bad bad kitty he stumbled forth going in the general direction of the door. Forgetting in his haste he could of easily traversed the shadows to escape.

To think all he wanted was to greet his mistress and he stumbles into this oh lordy trauma oh the trauma. Yes its clear we are seeing a ham acting at its best but its worth a few laughs as long as he dont get a long verbal assault style lecture. He knows is an errant little panther that gone astray. He hopes that the love his Mistress has for him will win him some lovings and be forgiven as well.

    (Commander Leo)

Time alone was rare for Leonidas and Saura. They both had their duties to the realm as well as their duty as parents to three beautiful children. Those two factors alone kept them busy. So much so that by the time they found the privacy of their own room they were both far to exhausted for much more then light conversation, holding each other, and finally sleep. That is what made times such as this all the more precious. The General remained kneeling as he relinquished his hold on the flowered gift watching as she began to weave the satiny petals down her neck and collar. A low approving hmm could be heard as she stood now using the rose to bid him stand. Smoothly he would do just that bridging the slight gap between them with a small step and reaching out to take hold of her upper arms in an impassioned grip. As she tilted her head upward teasing him with the delight of her own gift Leonidas lowered his head whispering as he drew nearer to her warm waiting mouth. "M'lady I humbly accept." Their lips touched gently at first with ever growing desire shutting out the rest of the world until only they two existed.

All too quickly the sound of a door thrown open directly behind him caused the kiss to come to end. Remaining as he was Leonidas turned to hear his son's words then watch as he retreated from the room. Shaking his head with a sigh an apologetic look was offered to Saura. "Hold that thought my love. It would seem, for now at least, our children have other plans for us." Dutifully he began to usher her to the nearby window so that they could both view the scene within the gardens below.

    (Saura)

As their kiss deepened, intense desire for her husband washed over her, making every nerve fire with electricity. Trapping his bottom lip between her full pillows, she'd pull him closer. Adjusting her sari to the point where one slender, bronzed thigh presses against his own, moving to wrap around his hips. Sun-kissed hands travel wantonly down his back to come and intimately palm his deliciously muscled backside. A velvety moan escapes her throat, just as the sound of the door being flung open filters into her hazy consciousness.

Dark tendrils jostle as her attention darts to the doorway. Of course it was their son, Darren-and what an eyeful was awaiting him. It's only fitting that he would barge in just in time to see his parents in intimate embrace-his mother in obvious disarray, her bare thigh uncovered dangerously high and wrapped around the hips of her husband, accompanied by both her hands palming his rear. Even though the inturruption of her son brought everything to a sudden halt, just as if someone had poured a icy bucket of water all over her- upon the comment and exit of her son, an unmistakable grin crossed her full lips, thinking the entire situation increadibly humerous. Noticing the apologetic look of her husband, she shook her head. Caramilized tones search in pursuit of his ears "Oh, I'll hold much more than a thought as soon as this little matter has been cleared up." An impish wink was given in turn to her husband. Being just enticing enough with her words for him to desprately look forward to their next moment alone together-whenever that would be.

Moving toward the window, Saura readjusted her sari, so she would appear as polished as usual. Scanning the grounds, and seeing business buzzing as usual, she wondered why they'd been encouraged to look. Just then, she saw a cluster of people looking toward the sky...was that Raven falling? Her body tensed and her heart jumped up into her throat but slowly eased back into its proper place seeing her son Leo catch him. A deep, relieved sigh escaped her lungs as she turned to walk downstairs to see if everyone was alright. She'd loved Raven like a son and would be as heartsick as Romi if anything should have happened to him. Pausing only for a second, her hand saught that of her husband's, wanting his support and reinforcement before moving any further.

    (Mercedes)

Mercedes had waited a moment before she had been given pause to enter the room. The accent of the inventation didn't phase her much, being as there were many people coming and going in this residence. A graceful hand reached forth and opened the door, quietly. Noticing first the marking on the floor. From being exposed to many things, there wasn't much need to ask her why she was doing this of course. Probably something in her culture, or decorating the room to suit. That was never a bad thing of course, if it helps her to feel more at home in this place full of strangers.

The french accented red haired woman glanced towards the newly arrived general with a friendly nature. Deciding not out of insult to speak without the complicated words, but more so out of respect for the language barriers. If there should be any present of course. Of course nothing with the me tarzan hand signals, that would be just rude! Could you imagine that? Angering the newly arrived general and there be two hospitler types due to being given the gift of a splitting headache? Two it may be, but none would get her job done! If red is intended to decorate the walls of the room, there would be plenty of it, and not just paint either! "Hello," Mercedes spoke, as respectfully as possible. "How are you? My name is Mercedes. I apologize for being late, was checking the other rooms." She would give Gaz some time to respond, that way she isn't rushed into anything, and maybe feel welcome.

    (Roblen)

Lips pulled the final drag igniting the smokes tip. "I came here to fight. If she is 'unable to attend' then you will take her place." Thumb flicked the remains out of the circle leaving right hand free to draw the dagger at his hip. Left hand deftly reached up releasing the second dagger sending it flipping end to end to sheath itself in the ground approximately one inch from Branden's knees. The youth reached out plucking the dagger from the earth then smoothly rising to his feet taking that first step into the circle. He had watched the two spar numerous times but until now he had never entered this arena himself.

Steel grey sphere's set within a death mask behind a curtain of long brown locks. Body remained relaxed awaiting the other to make the first move. Branden took up his own stance attempting to judge his opponent and where a weakness may lie. Leaping high into the air he would tuck his knees against his chest turning in the air much like the dagger had done in an attempt to place himself to Roblen's back. Feet shifted and senses judged the projectory and point of landing. Leg muscles coiled launching Roblen into the air followed by the snapping out of his right leg with the intent of connecting squarely to Braden's jaw. The power of such a kick coupled with the momentum of one's rise and the other's fall sending the young Black in a backwards spiral. This was both the beginning as well as the near ending to their spar. Roblen would follow through with near inhuman speed leaving Branden no time to recoup. Blow upon blow crashed down until the boy lay unmoving in the center of the ring.

Right hand reached into the pouch at his belt drawing out tobacco and paper. Fingers rolled the tobacco filled paper bringing it to parting lips. Tinder box is lit igniting the tip sending a thin line of smoke into the air with the first draw. Steel grey sphere's watched during the slow burn of the ciggarette giving no hint to the thoughts behind the mask. "Get up." The smoke joined the previous butt and Branden was jerked up by the back of his shirt. "Now it's time for that lesson." Branden struggled to regain his footing as Roblen dragged him from the circle, through the garden, and out into the grounds.

    (General Leo)

Leonidas was a very lucky man. He had fallen for his wife one could say from the moment he laid eyes on her. Their relationship had not been that easy however as her past kept him at arms length for a very long time. Through patience, persistence, and a great deal of understanding he had been able to sooth her fears until at last she had allowed their feelings to develop. Since that time there had never been another emotional distance between them. Even though duty kept them from being physically together as often as they liked the love and passion for each other remained consistent in its ever growing state. She had always and would always be his muse, his mentor, his confidant, and his greatest friend.

As they drew closer to the window Leonidas's heart nearly leapt out of his chest with his body desperately wishing to follow. Saura's hand was taken as his words began to surround her along with his arms. "He's alright, everything is alright. Look Nicolai laid a protection spell and Leo caught him." The pride in his first born could clearly be heard along with his own relief. Leaning further forward Leonidas kissed his wife's collar repeatedly as if sending up a prayer of thanks. "You see everyone is.." his voice trailed off as he watched the exchange between Leo and Raven slight confusion passing over his features. The General could also see that Raven's father was feeling much the same as he. Lifting his head he continued to watch as the group began to go their separate ways until only his two son's and Maybelle were left.

"I think we should go have a word with the boys so you can know everything is really ok." What he really wanted to do was speak to his son just so he could hear that he didn't see what he thought he saw.

    (Gaz)

Oh thank Muth'la it could speak words she knew...

She was probably one of the most versed in common in the clan, aside from her mentor who was not orc even in spirit... who nearly got his arms torn off a couple times for that handicap. But she was an expert only in her own circle of people. Here she was well aware that most children had far more extensive vocabularies. But she could not help it that this language was so brash, uncultured, and lacking any logical rules! It was a wonder these people could even understand half of what they said to each other. Maybe that was why these creatures had so many wars...

She would nod to the girl, as it seemed a fairly universal gesture of acknowledgment. At least none of these people had tried that odd gesture of hand tasting. In the town before this on her journey, a man had taken up her hand and lowered his head until his mouth actually touched the back of her hand. She had been so alarmed at the unbidden touch .... at the thought of being bitten by a hungry human... she had floored him in defence. And everyone had been appalled at HER behavior. Greeting indeed! How in this world was tasting someone a greeting?

"Good Dai, Mersay'deez," She would greet the woman in return, setting down the jar for the moment. She was somewhat confused at what the woman was late for, as the sons of the castle had already done their duty of greeting and showing her new living quarters. She admired the blazing red hair, as it was not a color commonly seen. "I am well... the journey fair. Thwa... no... no need to apologize."

"May I... halp you?" She would add after a brief pause, looking at the woman with a glimmer of curiousity off setting the otherwise stern features.

    (Mercedes)

So far, the effort to introduce herself to the newly arrived orcish? general was going well. Admiring the different sound that was presented to this castle with the heavily accented vocal that came from Gaz. It really was pretty, even if it was a culture of a race that she had to admit went mis-understood. If anything, getting to know her should it be permitted would be a wonderful opprotunity to learn more about the world that she lives in, to better understand what makes things tick. That is if her sunny nature doesn't rub Gaz the wrong way like it can some people.

"I just wished to introduce myself," Mercedes flashed a sensere smile, taking a breath in responding to the inquiry of needing her help. "Also to let you know that if you need anything to make settling in easier to just send for me, and I will do what I can. I am afraid I need to be excused, my magics inform me of others that are seeking my attention as well." Mercedes gave an elegant curtsey to show that she respected the newly arrived brunette general.

Then she had turned and frowned as she had to make her way down the hallways. What rotten timing she was having today... Started off well, but then her magics started tingling with the arrival of guests. Probably make better time to leap through the planes and go into the main hall directly, she thought, lifting a finger to create a rift in this plane big enough just to slip through, opening another end in the main hall.

    (Continued in Castle Main)

    (Brenden)

    (Continued from Castle Grounds)

The way into the shadow plane was then resummoned and with Branden slumped upon his shoulder Brenden quickly stepped through. The path led directly within his own private chambers where he tossed the twin face first upon his feathered mattress. Orders followed snapping out towards the ever present mute servant. "Have a hot bath, food and drink brought here at once! Any slacking off and next I will have your eyes." The servant hurried off taking the promised threat to heart as last he slacked off his tongue had been laid forfeit. Sliding a dagger from Branden's boot sheath he moved to lean a single shoulder against the wall and proceeded to trim his nails. "I have some very interesting news for you, dear brother." He stated in a rather mischievous tone, he knew this would pique the other's curiosity to no ends. "But alas...I would not galvanize you with such gossip until you are refreshed and well." Knowing this would irritate the hell out of his brother a low melodic hum began to eminate from within his chest as he for the other to recover.

    (Branden)

He lay there on the cold hard pact earth with no sense of time or what was happening in his surroundings. Not a very safe position for an assassin to find himself in but it was Branden's world for now. That is until his twin came to the rescue; rescue being relative. Brenden's form of rescue including adding insult to injury well before he ever decided to take him out of eye site of every Tom, Dick, and Harry the castle employed as help. If Branden had had more energy he would have had a much better response as it was now he would simply have to bid his time and plot his revenge.

When Benden threw him unceremoniously onto the bed face first he would lay there limply his limbs all askew. When he played the typical 'I know something you don't know but I'm not going to tell you until I am well ready card' Branden used what little strength he could muster to speak. "Yo sut an asssss." The words of course were muffled from the face full of mattress he was eating at the time but the feeling was most definitely there.

He let out a long breath then closed his eyes in an attempt to dream his revenge. That is until the mute his brother employed lifted him from the bed. What the hell was happening now?! Branden had little time to wonder as he found himself sinking below the surface of hot water. Gasping and sputtering he came to the surface throwing his arms over either side in a bid to save his life. "Gods damn you Brenden!" He opened his mouth to say more but was quickly silenced by some form of slop filling it and sliding down his throat. As if the water filling his lungs where not enough he was now about to drown in soup! Really salty soup at that! If he weren't thirsty before he certainly needed a drink now. As if reading his mind the mute thrust a chalice of water forward tipping it up so that it spilled from the corners of his mouth to flow coldly over his bare chest. About that time he realized something had happened to what little clothing he had on when he had arrived back home. That did it. Knocking the chalice out of the servant's hands the water began to splash all around him as he struggled to gain footing at the bottom of the tub. Branden's body temperature dropped rapidly causing a thin layer of ice to form over his body. This in turn caused the water to slow until it too began to crystallize. By the time he stood, fully naked, in the tub it had turned into a solid block of ice from his feet to his knees. The room had become like an ice house and his own body looked like an ice sculpture. Branden's chest heaved and icy blue eyes narrowed as he lifted a finger to point directly at Brenden. "Unless you want to be wearing ice block underwear you better start talking."

    (Leo II)

There was nothing Leo could add to his father's words. So much had already been sacrificed in order to hold the secret to attempt a full explanation would just undo all that had been done. Instead the eldest son simply nodded and turned on his heels. Leo's feet took on a mind of their own as they guided him through the castle toward his room. Silently he walked wrapping himself in the many thoughts that ran rampant. Maybelle, their kiss, the feel of her, gave way to Raven's fall and the down hill slide that preceded that single event. Leo's knuckles cracked sending a fresh rivulet of blood down the back of his hand when he reached out to clasp the door handle. "God's forgive me," he whispered, "I wouldn't change a thing." Taking a deep breath he entered his room reigning in his concerns until only one remained. One single thought that had always and would always remain at the forefront of his mind, Maybelle.

    (Maybelle)

It didn't take Maybelle long to reach the castle, nor to assess the situation... Though for a moment she did make a detour to weave in between her parents playfully, looking fully upon their faces with a soft sigh. Warmth spread within her with the love she felt for them, but she must not dally, though she was sure they must know she was just there moments before with the scent of floriental roses and jasmines. Pale pink mist hover for a moment at the entrance, seeing the two brothers go in. While she looked, she knew exactly what she was doing as she was finally beside her grandda. She had missed him something terrible when he had gone away, but as Romi always said, it made the reunion even sweeter. He would be able to sense her of course. And perhaps may even know what she was up to even before she did. Happier than the sun that bursted through the clouds, she would for a moment in mist from put a whisper of a kiss upon the strong planes of her grandda's cheek in greeting. The joy infused in it from her heart and soul. He looked different yes, but better. Handsomer if anything can be said about a god, yet harder as well. But she knew him, deep within. He was her teddy bear on the inside, and that was all that mattered.

Seeing Darren's anger, she would not wish to confront him just yet. He was angry she can see... And for an odd reason, she sensed embarrassment. A smile came hither upon her lips as they curved in mild amusement. Looks like from his bloody nose, Leo had planted a really good one. Not that she agreed with it, or how or even why it started. Still a sense of strange pride bloomed within her chest. Silly, she knew, but still it wasn't like she could help it. If Darren's emotions were any indication, she would sniff her small nose and thought that he certainly deserved it. She avoided him and his mother, along with his father as she sailed in and up the stairs. She would go to Leo and see if he was alright. Going in through the shafts of the doorway of their residence, she only had to listen for him to find out he was in his room... Which of course, made her hesitate for a moment. Well she could always say, she had found the door ajar, (though highly unlikely as it was a white lie) and would go right on in as if in her own home... And in a way it was. She was comfortable here and there would be many a time in her youth when she would come in bursting through the door to tell stories of what they did and what was new.

She went towards his room, and materialized a foot before she knocked softly with a light rapping of her knuckles. Absentmindedly, she adjusted her shawl and the pins that held her flaxen locks up, smoothing out her cream coloured dress. She had thought to go right on in within her mist, but she didn't want to startled him and rob him of his privacy. Nor did she not want to give him choice to tell her to go away. She didn't know where Darren and his mother were heading to, so with a soft voice she said on the other side, "Leo? Are you there? It's me, Maybelle." Ok... she knew he was there!! And it seemed a stupid thing to say, but she blamed that on her anxious heart and belly to know if he was alright and not harmed.

Resident's Chambers Empty Re: Resident's Chambers

Post  Admin Mon Aug 16, 2010 7:58 pm

    Leo:
Leo had been rooted to the floor only a few feet within the room staring off into the distance. His thoughts had been so fully focused on Maybelle that when her light knock on the door came accompanied by her sweet voice he thought it just a figment of an overactive imagination. His heart began to hammer once more within the confines of his chest as he slowly turned to shift full focus to the door latch. Leo's hand had a light tremble as it reached forward clasping the cool metal to release the lock. Persperation began to form a fine mist over his bare chest and back as a flush began to work its way up his neck. Leo couldn't decide what would be worse the defining disappointment if she were not truly there or the embarassment of how he must look after the fight with his brother and the intimate turn his thoughts had been taking while within the privacy of his chamber. As the door began to swing inward Leo felt his breath catch and hold. "M'lady."

    Maybelle:
Maybelle had her head bowed and when the door opened her chin lifted upwards to gaze towards the opening. She stood there all serene with her hands clasped in front of her. Bright blue skies collided with the soft darkness for a moment before she lowered her lashes in a demure manner as she said softly, "Leo..." in greeting. A small smile curved upon her lips as she continued, "Hope I'm not disturbing? I only wanted to see that you're alright..." Her crown canted to one side as she asked, "May I?" Her hand lifted to gesture within his room, an indication that she wanted to come in.

    Leo:
Leo's eyes came in full contact with her blue pools and instantly became lost. He gave a nodded bow of the head his own hand instanly capturing the delicate fingers she presented in question to entering. It was then that his lungs began to burn from lack of breath. As casually as he could the held breath was released and he stepped to the side guiding her within the room. Once she was over the threshold the door would slowly close yet he could not seem to release the electrical current of that single touch just yet. Words would not come as he stood before her sweat and blood still mingling on his unwashed form.

    Maybelle:
Her fingers curled around his as she crossed the threshold with light steps. She found that his slightly calloused hands were soft and warm to the touch, and even as she took hold of his fingers, hers would subtly caressed over them. Causing the slightest of friction that was light and yet noticeable. Grandda bless her heart as it was pounding too hard within her ribcage that it had her hearing the rhythm of it rush within her ears. She was still quite unsure of what exactly she was doing here, and didn't know if she would have the wits about her. She had enough experience to know that she appeared calm, and her ears perked as the catch of the door closed signaling that no one should intrude. The wickedness might have deserted her moments before as she withstood his silence, but unfortunately for Leo, it had come back full force. She took a couple of steps, her fingers not relinquishing its hold as she lightly tugged softly, either for him to follow or turn. She looked at Leo over and slightly above her shawl covered shoulder as she said in a low tone, "You gave Darren a good one, and well deserved one... Doesn't look like he got his hands on you, though...." She pivoted lightly upon her toes to face him as with a secret smile she continued, "A pity... I thought I would tend to you... I'm assuming the blood is not yours?" Her eyes held a hint of mischief as she looked him over, seemingly more curious than anything else.... And since when did she show an interest if he was alright or not?

    Leo:
Surely this was a dream because there could be no way for reality to be this good to him. This thought began to plague Leo's mind forcing him to follow the gentle tug of her caressing fingers. It did not however force him to stop in the instant that she stopped her eyes roaming his body in a way he had never seen before. On the one hand her words held an undertone that did not match the words of concern for his welfare. On the other there seemed to be an unknown hunger behind that searing look that lent a boldness to his own actions. Still cradeling her hand he closed the distance between them with a single step bringing their bodies within a single breath of touching. Leo's hand, now free of the door handle now slipped easily over her hip coming to rest at the small of her back. It was in that moment that the husk of his voice was once more found. "The blood is not my own but that does not mean there is no need to tend to me M'lady."

    Maybelle:
Her heart seemed to have taken a tumble as she saw him neared, as her free hand lifted towards his chest, unsure at the moment what he was up to. An automatic gesture living around boys most of her life. Normal considering the company she kept with Darren, Raven and the twins, always up to no good for the fun of it when she was younger and they would play fight. She knew Leo wouldn't, but it couldn't be helped... Still, her hand stayed upon his form as she felt his light touch upon her back that sent tiny shivers up her spine. Even as he spoke, she lifted her head and seemed to smile in an indulgent manner as she replied softly, "Is that so?" Her eyes lifted towards his once again, before they lowered even as she murmured, "Well... in that case... where were we before the surprise arrival of my family?" She paused for a moment in stillness... as if in thought... remembering... holding Leo in suspension as she gathered her courage and supposedly finishing what she herself had started due to circumstance and had nothing to do with planning. He didn't have long to wait as she whispered, "Ah yes... we were right here..." She leaned in, suppressing a chuckle that threatened to escape whenever she was anxious as petals first touched the corner of his mouth, lids dipping lower only to brush softly upon his lips.

    Leo:
Maybelle's touch was liquid fire spreading from the point of contact throughout Leo's body in a way he had never known. His skin seemed to cling to her own refusing to relinquish it and though she was speaking her words could not be heard over the overactive rythmn of his heart. The only break in the spell she had cast came when her lips began to visibly approach his own. Lids began to lower over earthen pools as Leo closed the distance to meet her tender kiss. A low moan escaped through parting lips sending a heated wave to was over her inviting mouth. Tilting his head ever so slightly the tip of his tongue escaped to trace along Maybelle's bottom lip content to feel the silken plane. At the small of her back the tips of his fingers urged her ever closer as their grip began to tighten. In that moment their entertwined hands began to rise and he released hers long enough to place her palm against a stubbled cheek.

    Maybelle:
Her breath hitched in her throat as Leo complied, staying still as she savored the moment once more. Leaning in slightly a little more, the scent of his training assailed her senses along with the underlying muskyness of what is naturally there. She used her hand upon his chest to steady her weakened knees, fingers pressing in soft pressure. She took an intake of a soft gasp as she felt the tip of moistness upon the plush expanse of her lower pout. Her lips curved in a small smile and velvet slid out to tentatively to meet his own. Tiered pillows went pliant as she moved in closer, capturing his lips. A smidgeon of a kiss before she pulled apart to tease only to greet his again. She inhaled his warm breath even as it mingled with her own. Her lithe body swayed towards him, as the fingers of her hand splayed upon his racing heart to cup her palm. Her fingers upon his cheek caressed to linger below his jawline, grazing the stubble before it traveled with light fingertips down the side of his neck and round the back, encouraging Leo to come closer. For alone within the room she would partake what she thought would be forbidden to her before.

Leo became lost in the moment. It was difficult to tell where one began and the other ended. Their bodies were so tightly pressed together with hands innocently exploring. But it was the kiss, the touch of her soft lips to his own, that completely expelled all else. When Maybelle pulled back for the briefest moment it was almost painful. Leo's eyes opened searching her although in that instant her lips were once more upon his giving him the chance to view the expression on her angelic features as she kissed him. A low rumble began at the back of his throat as he memorized her every nuance just before his lids again slid closed.

Under normal circumstances Leo would do what is honorable, what is right. This was not one of those times. He pulled back putting enough distance between them that his arm could slip below her knees sweeping her upward. Leo cradled Maybelle against his bare chest turning away from the door to face the rooms inner chamber. "Maybelle," the husk of his voice rasped over his vocal cords leaving only his thoughts to continue. 'I love you. I have always loved you.' Leo began to slowly make his way inward. 'I am yours to command.'

Oh by the very gods...Brenden could hardly contain the hilarity of the situation his dear twin sibling managed to find himself in as he was quickly undressed and tossed into a well heated tub of water before being force fed some grotesque smelling concoction of his servant's making. And to top it off watching a chalice of ice cold water practically dumped onto his brother's face and chest. He could not contain the bout of quick laughter that followed the absurdity of the scene before him. "Aright alright...Enough!" He announced dismissing his wise cracking servant before making a mental note to give the drudge a some small reward for a job well done.

Brenden watched in silence as his twin struggled to rise in the icy sludge of freezing water. "Now now Branden...you should watch that temper of yours...you might hurt someone." A hint of a smile now tilted the corners of his lips as his heightened amusement slowly died down. Pushing away from the granite wall he had earlier been leaning against the tall prince moved to slowly saunter around the frigid ice effigy that was his brother. Heated breath moved outwards past his lips only to turn into a thick fog of chill brume. "Would you stop that now and dress for the sake of the gods! Besides you remind me too much of mother...and that's just...scary." Altered skeletal fingers flicked outwards in the direction of his bed where a clean outfit of Branden's lay.

The moist chill that engulfed 'his' room became an annoyance he could no longer bear and spinning on his heel Brenden moved quickly towards the massive double doors that barred him from the sunlit warmth of windowed halls. A slight pause was given as the doors opened before him as of their own accord. "You had missed quite alot as you were out 'playing' with our Master Assassin...but I will not bore you with the details." His usual arrogant smile again touched over the fullness of his lips. "Although...the arrival of Fayte might interest you...you know the one mother had mentioned once so long ago as being her firstborn child? That coupled with that fact that this Fayte had been detained and ordered to the dungeons. Let me tell you...this reunion was definitely not a joyous one."

With that said lengthy steps carried him through the now open aperture and down the brightly lit hall. "Oh I almost forgot..." he called out behind him as he now moved slowly down the wide marble steps. "...Lien Tao has arrived as well, now hurry and dress!" For long moments his thoughts strayed to what exactly awaited them within the council chambers before realizing that he was actually taking the long way to the council room by walking. Another pause in his forward progress was given in order to call upon the gateway into the shadow plane yet before he could summon it a bright shaft of light slammed directly into his left eye. "What the hell!?" Brenden's arm lifted shielding his face from the intensity of the sun's ray.

With one eye he followed the beam straight up into the leafy top of a distant high tree. The demonic blood that flowed through his veins granted him the ability to see clearly into far distances that others could not see. It took mere moments for the blinding spots to clear from his sight as dark obsidian spheres raked downwards over the tree and further past as his attentions were drawn directly to the small assembled crowd that loitered just outside the protected Eternal lands. A hunting party? His nostrils flared as he took in each of their various scents. "Lycans!" Brenden's warning call rang out before fading completely, his body froze in mid-leap landing him awkwardly just outside the aperture on the head of a stone guardian gargoyle. It was at the moment of his leap that one of the men shifted their stance and moved to the side that he caught the lost yet desperate glance of the most beautiful woman he had ever set eyes upon. His heart gave a loud rhythmic thump as he looked straight into her eyes, they were blue...as deep as the sky, and he fell deeply and utterly into them.

Post  Admin Mon Aug 16, 2010 7:58 pm

The years, they had been kind to Rayne in the home. Starting out as a slave , a beautiful slave in a place she doesn't like to talk about... Until one fateful day when a certain little girl pulled her into a bush... and changed everything. Freed from merely becoming a thing to look at, someone's doll to 'polish their blade' on. Eventually freed from the leather that bound her will into servitude and being free... A reward for diligent service to the house she had served if nothing else. Free to have left if she so chose, but she stuck around. Understanding that it was her choice to do so and still watch after the smalls when their parents had much to do, or perhaps some time to themselves... Watch small monsters become ladies or gentlemen... Well, maybe not them all to be perfect in their manners compared to others, but their own person indeed. Free to converse with her friends as she wished to do, to threaten freely when the unwelcome threat of harm would come to the youth without the idea of punishment. To protect them without fear of acting out of line for a slave... The caretaker of sorts was still amazed she got to threaten to trap that one obnoxious faerie from years ago into a bottle and give it to the child she carried as a plaything... Those that needed to know of her true status from her homelands did, while others were on a need to know basis... Prefering to live as free.

On this day, Rayne had slipped on a wet tile, not noticing the shine that signaled a wet floor. From the maid who had scrubbed it the few moments before. She slipped and hit her head on something, causing a mild headache and the need to go lay down. For the last five moments she spend in the comfortable bed, clearing the sleep out of her mind, headache gone. There was no need to grumble at the maid, she was doing her job and Rayne should have been paying more attention. Particularly when she just notes the cleaning supply scent in the air. Blue hughed orbs would keep out from between her lids, taking in the scenery of her room for the past years... Giving a smile at the sunlight that filtered through the window. The weather was perfect for whatever needed to be done outside today. A strand of hair blue in the current, perhaps they had decided to air out the castle? Rayne could only know if she went out and checked....

Climbing out of bed, Rayne had been wearing a chemise, gold in color that was simple. Elastic around the neck that would make it easy to slip on or off. Straightening it out, fortunatly it was crushed velvet, so wrinkles weren't too noticable. What she liked about it was the fact it was beathable, and the sleaves gave plenty of room to work with. Angel Robe Sleaves. Moving to the closet, Rayne would pull out overdress, black is color made of a stronger material. A thick cotton likely, and had been slipped on, and laced up. Her saphire was tucked into her cleavage, leaving a mythril chain to decorate her neckline. Moving to a mirror with a table nearby, Rayne had pulled her long black silky hair back, and tied it away from her face. Not much special about it as the ponytail had been left to dangle as it will down her back. Next a pair of black slippers had been placed on her feet, matching the outfit to create a simple look. She wasn't in the mood for overdressed at the moment, and it was no special occasion....

The woman had moved out of her room, closing her door behind her, but only so much. She liked to cuddle with Pantera whenever the lady would allow it, and if she is in the room, Wesa would join his lady. So the room's door was left open enough for the kitties to slip inside. Soft soled shoes would escort their wearer down the hall, where she would watch Darren and Saura walk upstairs. Eyebrows would furrow as she wondered... What happened to Darren... Giving that bloody nose a second glance as his mother seemed quite unhappy about something. Best leave that alone, Rayne had a feeling she really didn't want to know about that... Down the stars she would walk, coming close to the end of the stairwell. Intending to take in what was going on downstairs. For anyone who would look her way, Rayne's blue eyes was looking everywhere, to get an idea of what was going on.

Branden's limited patience had come to an abrupt end. The only reason it had lasted this long was due to the Master Assassin's handling. There was no way that man could possibly be human. The smallest shudder ran down his spine as he remembered the ordeal before dismissing it with a wave of his hand. To his brother or even the servant it would appear as if Branden was simply relinquishing the fridged temperatures he had placed over the room, after all he wasn't about to let anyone know what that "play time" was like. Shaking his head the prince stepped out of the tub his body returning to its more human state. He snatched the clothing off the bed and dressed while listening to his brothers account of the many happenings within their home.

"The prodigal daughter has returned. I see mother hasn't lost any love there making sure she has the best room in the house." A smirk touched his lips as he began to mentally plot his next moves where this first born was concerned. Branden had grown accustom to being their mothers favored child and he would be damned if anyone else took that place.

Lacing the leather draw on his pants Branden looked up in time to see the back of his brothers robes round the corner. He rolled his as at the act of impatience and gathered his daggers returning them to their proper places even as he made his way to the door. With all the many happenings there could be only one place for everyone to gather, the council chambers. Branden began to follow his brother’s path down the window lined hall adjusting his clothing as he went along.

His thoughts where torn. The newest revelations where of course rolling through the forefront but ever since that fateful day one thing seemed all consuming. Their interaction had lasted no more then a few minutes but it was more then enough for Branden. His days as well as his nights were now filled with either the search for or thoughts of this mystery woman. Who was she? Her dress and actions marked her as an assassin that was fairly obvious but it told little else. Who was training her? Where had she come from? More importantly where had she gone?! The last question had caused many a sleepless night.

Branden had just begun to conger her image once more within his mind as a piercing light hit his peripheral vision. His head snapped to the side as he nimbly sprung into the door frame. Brenden was already perched on one of the stone gargoyles having seen something before his twin. Branden's site however was drawn to the source of the light pinpointing it within the tree tops of the forest just outside the castle walls. What he saw left him rooted to the spot. "You," his voice was an awed whisper more to himself then anyone else. Everything around him slowed to a grinding halt as he realized the simple mental image of her came no where close to the real thing. Expelling a held breath Branden turned his head to tell his brother when he saw the look on Brenden's face. "What's the matter with you?" He followed his gaze seeing the group of lycan surrounding an unknown woman. "Oh HELL no." For the second time today the eldest Black was torn. He had waited what seemed like a lifetime to find this girl again but there was no way in Roan's Abyss he was going to stand for dog's hunting these lands.

Branden's skin instantly began to freeze as he jumped to the head of his brother's gargoyle. "Come on Brenden. If we act quickly enough we can play with the pups and get the girl." He of course was referring to himself getting the girl in the tree tops but that would all be revealed in time. One hand began throwing the necessary ice in a wide sheet while the other hand reached back taking up a fistful of Brenden's robes. In the next instant they would be sliding down heading straight into the fray.

~The darkness of the dungeon had once been compared to the darkness of the grave...both were immesurable and both while seemingly peacful could easily strip the insanity from any creature be they god or man. Roan knew this all too well...

Within the darkness of Fayte's cell the shadows began to ebb and flow...swirling in a timeless dance marking the Dark Lord's proximaty...as he drew ever closer to the edges the very darkness itself would take on the 8'9" silhoette. Even within fathomless merk the contrast was noticible...twin milky orbs slowly opened lending truth to the fact that another had indeed joined her...rather then some figment of an over active imagination or dream she had been taking part in. Remaining still within the depths the honeyed barritone of his voice filled the room with a perpetual calm...~

"Fayte..." The name was spoken in little more then a whisper a noticable note of pain swelling in its release. "What has brought you back to this home.."

Resident's Chambers Empty Re: Resident's Chambers

Post  Admin Mon Aug 16, 2010 7:59 pm

A warm feeling spread within her as she anticipated and waited for every small movement. Dwelling and savoring each one, knowing that this would be embedded in her memory if not for awhile, perhaps for all time. She felt him part, and though she wasn't disappointed, she was ready for what she guessed would be an apology or something about honor even. For really, a girl should not be alone in a boy's room! How funny... Though that had been her intent, how quickly a chance encounter can change her mind. To throw caution to the winds and actually listen to Saphire. Silly girls as they were giggling about males and wondering how best to catch one's attention... But in her case, for a long while, discourage and stay away from one named Leo.

She stood, even as she lifted her lashes to look at him, feeling the air in between them cooling her body where he had been moments before. She was not expecting it, when she was wondering what he was up to when he bent and she was suddenly in his arms. Her lithe arm had automatically went above his shoulder to go towards the back of his neck to gently hold on. Her pale shawl had fallen over in the movement to bare a creamy shoulder. Her other hand went up against his clavicle, lightly touching it. The sudden movement caused her to gasp softly as she said in soft surprise, "Leo..." She could not help the thrill that went up her spine at how agile and easily he had simply lifted her. She felt small, feminine and cherished as she curled up against him. She did not lean her head against his shoulder, and instead lifted her cornsilk crown to look up at his strong features. She was wide-eyed in surprise, even as she felt the tendrils that softened within her at the sound of her name. His admission had amazed her further. Not in the way that she expected either. Yes, she knew how he felt for a long time, and felt his unspoken words to her very core.

Oh how his thoughts had touched her, and made her feel as light as air even as it was like a sunburst that filled her heart, and even she was bewildered at how happy it made her. She felt giddy even as her heart beat hard, unbelievable that he is in love with her. Unbidden a memory came upon her. She perhaps not older than in her slight rebellious tween years and he younger than her. He had been going away on a trip with his family and she remembered that once upon a time when they were younger how they would hug and exchange small words of take care, be safe and I love yous. Slowly, those came to cease as they got older and even though they were like extended family, with the growth of maturity, one realized perhaps that the definition of love had taken on a new meaning. It just didn't seem appropriate to say any longer.... Especially when she had realized that Leo was looking at her differently and in a way that no sibling should. Maybelle would be guilty about that as well, for a long time, that was how she had seen him, nothing more than a brother and had plotted with Darren and Raven on how best to sway him. (Though Darren knew nothing of why she was in a flurry of panic to find the prettiest girl in the realm.... Ok, ok... so the one she had found with Raven and the wart didn't count!) But it had been her talks with Saphire that would put her at ease, and how silly it was for her to think in that way, when there was really no blood in between them. How children can grow up in one big family, and eventually though the memories were there, what was then can not apply to now.

Her cornflower blue hues glittered as she glowed from within and a small smile lifted the corners of her cupid's bow shaped lips. Did he say hers to command? Oh yes, he did! Oh! He should not have said that, as Maybelle was feeling particularly wicked and mischievous at the moment. Oh sure, she had knocked on his door when no one was home, and yes her intent was to steal a moment alone... But what happens when a moment turned to one that can potentially be longer and when a girl was given carte blanche? She had thought to come in, give him a kiss, be a tease to drive him crazy for pay back for those yearnings of hers and then leave with another promise.... Now it seems she would have to switch plans and well no!! She couldn't just give in to her desires and have him beneath her (or was that beneath him?), especially in his own home! Gods, what if they were caught? Not to mention it was perhaps decidedly too soon, though in his heart perhaps not? She didn't know and yet, but there was no way she was going to pass this chance up.

Maybelle gave Leo a side-glance demure look, almost as if saying how dare he! Yet, there seemed to be a hint of devilish in them as she said softly, "Then take me to your bed...." Ooooo! That was good, no? And if he should drop her from shock, she was going to have a fit! She chose that moment to graze lips upon his jawline, and if he should turn she would capture his lips with her own. She would decide what would happen afterwards, depending if he was going to either lay or make her sit on it, make her stand beside or he would sit on his bed with her upon his lap.

Post  Admin Mon Aug 16, 2010 7:59 pm

Chivalry was certainly not dead but it did have its place. Had he stopped caring up her virtue in any way? Absolutely not. Had he given up on what was the honorable thing to do? Never. Then what was Leo thinking as he whisked the young woman into his arms, placed her tightly against his bare chest, and proceeded to turn toward the main piece of furniture in his room. All his life the eldest son of General Leonidas I had done what was concidered the proper thing to do. He had endured endless babble from many a girl thrown into his path by this very girl and his loving siblings. He had deflected many a longing look and turned down those who had thought to tempt him with less then chaste advances. Leo's heart however had been lost long ago and in spite of everyone's best efforts that fact simply would not change. Maybelle always had and always would be the only woman he could ever see.

All those years of torment had led them both to this very moment. Patience had indeed been his greatest virtue as he waited for the opportunity that had at last come his way. How many nights had he stood under her balcony or remained at the edges of a room where she had been just for the briefest glance or word. A hundred times or more Leo had said I love you within his actions all in the hopes that she would actually see that it was not simply a boys attempt at a man's emotion. He had never fully known if she had seen or even noticed any of his attempts, however masked they may have been, to win her attentions. Leo could only guess that on some level he must have reached her as for all intents and purposes it seemed that she was doing her best to divert him.

It was only hours ago that the full fruitation of his dreams had come to light. There within the garden's of Eternal a stolen moment had at last been theirs and the results were all consuming. That single chance had appeared one that Leo had grabbed with both hands pouring every ounce of his feelings into. What had taken place was a single kiss. A kiss that left them both with an entirely new way of looking upon what had previously been left unspoken. As with all things it was all too soon taken from them however now it would seem to be revisited. Leo had been standing there within his room remembering the events with awed reverence when a knock on the door interrupted his revelry. When he opened the door there she had stood a dream revisited. They had picked up where they had left off the kiss seemingly endless. Again Leo had been faced with an opportunity one that he could allow to pass through his fingers or one he could sweep off its feet. He chose the latter.

She spoke the words he had longed to hear punctuating them with a kiss along his jaw. Turning his head Leo's lips met hers with gentle promise. A promise to always be hers, a promise to respect her more then his own life, and a promise of all the happiness that could be theirs. His steps where strong and sure as he carried them forward stopping at the foot of the bed. Tenderly he laid her down as if she were the most delicate object he had ever encountered before rising to stand over her.

What would have or could have been in that moment would however be left unknown. Just as his lips began to form the words Leo's eyes took on a glazed far away look. He remained standing for the turn of three heartbeats then without further warning slumped forward his upper body landing on the bed. Leo's features were lost in the feathery down comforter leaving only the brilliant red crimson flowing as a fount from the back of his head was in sharp contrast to the pristine white cotton. As if in slow motion he continued sliding limply to the floor with a sickening thud.

Resident's Chambers Empty Re: Resident's Chambers

Post  Admin Mon Aug 16, 2010 7:59 pm

The intent really was to go to their chambers so he could sit and listen to his mother go on and on about whatever lecture she wanted to give this time. He could pretty much hear it now. It would probably be the talk about family with lots of words like duty, honor, and love thrown around. How could they have done such a thing? Didn't they care how it would reflect on the family? Oh yeah of course he didn't give a rip about the family. Of course he was trying his best to give his parents a bad name. It couldn't have had anything to do with his, can do nothing wrong, brother throwing a freaking sucker punch. No that couldn't have anything to do with it. He should have just turned the other cheek right? Offered that up so maybe his jaw could be just like his nose. Maybe that would have made them happy. Then they would be sitting around singing Leo's praises on how well he could break bones. Wow maybe the Empress herself would see fit to pin a gods be damned metal on him. Wouldn't that make them proud.

That was the original intent however all bets were off when he saw the bounce of blonde hair round a corner accompanied by the all too familiar perfume he had travelled to the port city to buy. Where the hell was she going? She couldn't have been going to her families chambers those where on the other side of the castle. Should certainly couldn't have been looking for Saffie because she had to know that she was with their mother. Gods knew she wasn't coming to see him because well..she just passed that freaking door. Well what do ya know. Surprise of all surprises she was knocking on Leo's door. He had barely gotten into sight when low and behold there she was going right on inside. Long angry strides closed the distance leaving him standing in front of the now closed door. Fists unconsciously opened and closed balling so tight his nails bit into calloused palms. He wanted to break down the door. He wanted to demand what was going on. He could bloody well guess but that was different from actually knowing.

Reaching out he tested the knob finding it unlocked and even opening a fraction as if inviting him to see for himself. Jaw aching from how tightly he was clenching it he pushed the door with his fingertips letting it silently swing inward. The wood of the door framed the two of them like some sick twisted portrait. She had been swept up into his arms. They were kissing. He was carrying her further into the room for all intents and purposes straight to his bloody bed. That was the proverbial straw.

    Darren saw red.

Instinct took over and with quiet footfalls he made a straight line toward them. Leo had just laid her down on the bed when Darren's hand reached out for anything solid. Finding purchase on the hilt of his brother's practice sword the younger drew it back coiling his biceps so tightly they shook. Swinging down with blind fury it was only at the last possible second that his wrist snapped up causing the flat of the blade to crash down on the back of Leo's head rather then the edge actually taking it off. His chest heaved once as he drew the blade back once more preparing for a second strike if necessary. Completely emotionless Darren watched as his brother's limp body slid to the floor. Dead eyes now lifted from Leo to Maybelle who was still on the bed..HIS bed. Cocking his head to one side, as if to say how could you, Darren's free hand snapped out clamping down on her upper arm and jerking her to her feet.

"Oh what a tangled web we weave."

His lips snarled as he spoke and his grip tightened thrusting her against his chest. In that instant his mouth was on hers brutally taking what should have been his in the first place. It was in no way tender nor was it gentle. It was vengeful and violent unending until first blood was drawn. Only then would Darren pull back then proceed with an attempt to drag Maybelle from the room.

Post  Admin Mon Aug 16, 2010 7:59 pm

Maybelle sighed inwardly, completely content as if she was granted her most warmest of wishes. The kiss bestowed upon her would be to her full of sweetness and tenderness. The meeting of lips as soft as snowflakes, yet its heat was unparalleled from the emotion that lay underneath it all. Without it, she realized, it was nothing but a kiss, but with it, the moment was just so much more profound. Later on perhaps, when she had time to herself, she would berate herself for being such a silly girl for trying to not take what is rightfully hers now. Cupid's bow petals would curve upwards against the exchange as her fingers twined around the silk ebony locks at the back of his neck. She seemed to melt against him, her body becoming pliant contouring towards his muscled frame, as if every inch of her needed this closeness. A knowing came with the kiss and to her this must be one of those most beautiful moments of her life. She believed him with all her heart and in this she coaxed and transferred the glow that was came from within.

She felt like a prized treasure as she was gently laid down, regretfully relinquishing her hold on him for now as legs and arms straightened. Her one hand falling from his neck as if wishing to get every second she could to touch him. Feeling the cool pristine white sheets beneath her, though she felt it not at all nor the softness of it. Only the fact, that it was done so lightly, she barely even felt the bed give. She lay there, a vision of angelic beauty in her cream colored gown, small feet peeking out from the folds. Her sunny head upon fluffy pillows as bright cornflower hues lifted to meet his own. Oh how he slayed her with his dark hues and strong jaw. But it was more than that, for when she looked within, something pulled at her. It took her breath away and it only made her heart thud even harder. A look of pure innocence upon her face, as she knew that he perhaps only wanted to look for a moment. Even then, ever so gracefully, her hands went up to start pulling the pins out of her flaxen hair, leaving the tendrils to wave and curl due to the way she had manipulating her locks to stay out of the way earlier this day.

A small smile was alit upon her features as she mistook his look for something more akin to dreamy, before he fainted upon the bed... She paused for a moment, as if a tad puzzled before she saw the blood. Her mouth dropped opened as she saw the vermillion stain started to spread. She let out a gasp of shock as she sat up and rolled upon her knees as she saw him slip and tried to catch him before he slid off. Alarmed, she looked down upon him before she inquired, "Leo?" What the hell? He was not bleeding before! She knew that! This...

That was when she was more attuned to the feelings around her that made the spine upon her back shivered and that was when she realized, they were not alone. She swallowed hard as her vision first took in trousers before her gaze traveled upwards til she saw his face. Her voice was maddening as she took in his dark look as she said incredulously, "Darren?" Before her features contorted into a frowned glare. She saw the sword in his hand as she continued, "Darren, how could you? Your own brother?" Truly she was shocked out of her system as she exclaimed, "Oh my-" It was all she could say when she felt his hand upon her arm. Startled, not expecting it, she was being propelled forwards, and it was only instinct for her to unfold her legs so that she could gingerly stand around Leo to an upwards position. Damn it! She was not going to be pulled around like some blood doll!

What? What tangled web! Oh the fool! She parted her lips to say something as glittered hues rose up to meet those of Darren. She wasn't even thinking straight, though she tried to communicate on the telepathic plane with Leo, seeing if he was really unconscious or merely just brought down with the strength of his younger. The voice within his head would be a semblance of calm as she gently probed, 'Leo? Leo? No... If you hear me... Don't move... You're badly hurt..." Gods... There was so much blood, or at least it seems like it. Never mind that most of the time, head wounds were superficial, but the way Darren was acting... She couldn't take the chance.

Her arm was hurting, but she didn't care as she tried to get away from Darren, pulling the other way, only to have her body slam against his... Jerk! And she was going to tell him too! Parting her lips as she said, "Darren, you-" Her eyes widened as her mouth was suddenly assaulted with his. Her lower pout bloomed with a sharp pain and burned and she tasted blood. Her blood? It wouldn't mattered as her warm cavern was invaded as he was manipulative with a twist of his head. In the meantime, though she was being held close by force, she turned her head to get away and bit down hard on him, even as her free hand went into a small fist and started to beat upon his chest to get him to stop! Her back leaned away from him or at least tried to and she was not without defences as she shifted her hips to try to get in a position to knee him one!

It was over and she stopped pounding Darren with her fist though she continued to try to pull away from him. The way Darren was feeling embraced her like a tomb, this whole ordeal was making nauseous and dread filled the pit of her stomach. She was good and mad as fury made her petite frame shake. Wavy cornsilk hair fell to frame her heart shaped features as she gave him a dirty look. No one, not one person had ever dared to force anything from her, nor had she ever been so mishandled. She was one of the sweethearts of Eternal Empire, the daughter of a just and fair father who will smite anyone if only she would tell him, the granddaughter of a god, what in the balls was going on? Yet Maybelle sensed something in Darren and could feel his intent... It made her blood run cold, but this was personal! She had to fight him herself and not bring him shame if only she and Leo would know. Not everyone had to. She had to give him that at least. Realization dawned on her as she was being dragged and she lowered her voice as she looked at him with eyes that brimmed with unfallen tears, "Darren, please.... Your brother is hurt... We just can't leave him..." She was going to play this by ear.... Would he do something about him, or would she have to bargain and change tactics? She wasn't sure, but only hoped that she could somehow get through to him and threw down the only card she knew she had at the moment, "If you'll ensure his safety..." Her voice faltered then as she hesitated. She was never one to go back on her word...

So this was it...led to the dungeons like some base criminal. Lien Tao and the burly general whose name conveniently slipped her mind were her only escorts as they made their way down the winding stair into the dank darkness below. A low hiss moved between clenched teeth only to echo off the stone walls as Fayte dared the general once again to lay a single hand upon her. Only as he slowed his pace falling back slightly from the two woman did she allow a contemptuous sneer to cross her lips. "Simu..." her low voice would snap sharply like the crack of a whip as she addressed Lien Tao. "...why are you here?" The question was simple as well as straight forward. Was the woman here to stop her...to warn Amelee of her betrayal? For if anyone would know her secrets it would be this ancient lady beside her. Golden amber hues drifted to the side glaring almost in accusation to Lien Tao's constrained profile as only an answering silence would follow after her impertinent question.

Mere moments passed until they finally reached the barred cell door that led into her most hospitable...accommodations. 'Great going Fayte...summoned from one dungeon only to be thrown into another...only this one seems to be a tad more housewarming and thankfully does not exude the overpowering stench of death and decay. Gee thanks mother...' A single pause was given as the heavy steel door was opened for her grating loudly on it's rusted hinges. It was with this pause that the idiot general...Kaden was his name she now remembered, took the heel of his palm and shoved hard between her shoulder blades sending her reeling headfirst into the darkened granite room. Completely off guard she fell to her knees and caught herself with her hands before her head could slam onto the straw covered ground.

So quickly that no mortal eye could witness and follow her movement, Fayte leapt up and spun around into a crouch. "You will pay for that insult you fool!" With that she flung herself full force at the cell door just as the heavy lock clicked into place. Rusted hinges groaned with the strain of her single assault yet held steady in their places. Naught but an arrogant grin was given in answer to her hostile tirade before the general followed by the ever silent Lien Tao turned away to make their way back towards the winding stairway leading up into the world of the living. Her eyes immediately adjusted to the surrounding darkness and with a huff she moved to the corner to sit herself upon the thickly woven mat that was most likely considered to be a bed.

Hours seemed to pass...or was it days? As the anger and affront that roiled within her slight form slowly cooled and turned to hurt and fear instead. Hurt that after all these years her mother would receive her in such an ill fashion with no love lost as there was obviously none to be had in the first place. And fear from the job she was being compelled to do by Lac. How many people...people she both loved and despised would be hurt from her deception. Even now the way she had forced herself to speak in such a manner to the gentle Lien Tao and that general pained her to no end. She wanted nothing more to bring her family in close and seal the bond so long ago broken by her foolishness...yet instead she was incited to push them all away.

Lost so deeply within her own grief she failed at first to notice the slight quivering of her mental awareness indicating another's presence joining her within the small cell. Her head snapped up from where it rested upon tightly drawn knees. Golden amber hues scanned the darkness for long moments before latching onto the swirling opalescent orbs glowing faintly across from her. A deep honeyed voice followed somewhat intoxicating in its cloying sweetness, even with the touch of pain that echoed within it. The fear that she momentarily felt was quickly replaced with an almost unbearable ache of something she could not immediately identify...was it longing? Before she knew it she was standing...a single pale hand reaching for the intruder wanting to touch and be touched. 'Why?...What am I doing?...' Not understanding what she was doing her hand dropped limply against her side.

Fayte tried to make sense of the others' shape in the darkness but it seemed to blend in so perfectly within the depths of the shadows. "I...what makes you think I have any home but this one?" As if on its own accord her own husky tone mimicked the note of hurt within his own. Greatly awed that her emotions roiled so out of control in this intruders presence followed by the urge that she wanted nothing more then to soothe the pain from his words. Everything slipped from her mind, Amelee, her family, Lac and the reason he forced her to come here. Her whole conscious centered only upon this one who stood silently before her now. "Who are you...?"

~Deep within the shadows the Dark Lord now stood ebbed and flowed as a mounting storm...in many ways they echoed his mood. As a silent sentinal he watched her move about the cage...her emotions running the gambit from hostility to regret. She knew the wrongs she committed...even as she committed them but it was seemingly beyond her control and in many ways it indeed was... He knew why she had been sent...he knew by whom she had been sent...he also knew that in the end none of it would matter.

She had faced all this before...a cage black as night...it had not been necessary as she had somehow been put to sleep by her jailor...forced to slumber for century's until he could find a use for her. Who would not have found insanity in such a windowless...doorless...inescapable existance... Who would not have lost themselves to the void rather then cling to the last shreds of their sanity when eternaty seemed an endless stretch of unknown pergatory...the very fact that she had survived for as long as she did was a testiment to her strength of will. It was this that had drawn him in the first place...what had pierced through his own self imposed isolation within the depths of the Abyss. This is where they had first met...within each others minds...so long ago... Together they had walked through the darkness sharing thoughts...feelings...but most of all anchoring each other from the tides of madness until the day both were released back to the realms of reality.

For the sake of what she must do...for the desire to see her live through her resurection Roan had used his mastery of psyonics to bury her memories of him deep within her sub conscious mind...carefully he had wrapped it within other memories secreting it away until the time was right...now was not yet that time...and so he remained in a newly altered form. His height remained the familiar 8'9" persona of a god...his eyes remained milky orbs able to see within the very depths of anothers soul but all other aspects of his physical form had changed. Long white locks had been replaced by a short ebony cut...a massive warriors build had been scaled down to a more trim athletic build and his skin no longer held the golden bronze indicative of his drow heritage...it now held a lighter more human tint. Even his wardrobe had undergone a transformation...rather then the highly polished black boots fitting over tightly stretched black breeches that hugged the corded muscles of his legs...a polished black shoe rested benieth a less form fitting pant. Over the broad expanse of his normally bare chest...a white cotton shirt with soft leather lacing which remained loose down to mid sternum.

This then would be the site she beheld as he stepped from the shadowed plane...the tendrils of twilight pulled from him as a lover loath to surrender their touch. It was her questioning...the echoing of pain within her own voice from the still imprisoned memories fighting to be freed that drew him and as he stood before her his face took on a calming expression...the honeyed barritone of his words mirroring it in every way...~

Who I am matters not for the moment...what I am would be more relevant... I am a guardian to all who reside within this realm...I am also the keeper to one you seek both knowingly...and unknowingly...

~One hand lifted turning palm up as an image began to swirl out of the air itself...it was a replica of his former self...Roan... Within his palm the likeness stood just as she had seen it thousands of times within her mind... Mentally he reached out allowing the restraints he had placed to recognize but not fully release...for in doing so she would easily see through the illusion he had now placed upon himself~

I believe this...is what you have been sent to find...

The long walk to the private family chambers seemed a lifetime, her normal caramel hue turned a flustered rose. Severe embarrassment in front of her peers was unacceptable and as soon as she was thinking rationally, a fitting punishment would most definitely be devised. Purpose driven strides carry them closer to desperately needed sanctuary, when suddenly-Darren takes an unexpected detour. Lush lashes quickly draw over mystic topaz orbs in a deliberate blink of disbelief.
Did he really just....!? If he dug his grave any deeper, he'd hit the very throne of Hades himself! In an attempt to keep her temper, a deep serrated breath draws in and out of her lungs, a dagger stare driving through the back of his head as he disappears into the threshold.

Heavy steps draw her closer to the door where Darren had disappeared, but nothing would prepare her for the sight she beheld-Maybelle's slight frame forcibly pressed against her younger son, caught in a thorny embrace- pleading on behalf of her eldest. Deeply expressive orbs clearly electrify with the jolt that seemed to stop her heart, a deep breath fueling the icy cry that burst forth "DARREN!!". The cry she released, desperate and gut wrenching, would echo through the hall.

Before she knew it, she was wedging herself between the two trying to clear enough room between them for Maybelle to break away and tend to Leo II who had clearly been struck unconscious. If she was successful, a sun-kissed hand would rise to deliver a bitter slap across Darren's face that would sting like the molten fires of hell.

There was NO WAY a son of hers would EVER treat a lady so appallingly-NOT while she drew breath! The atmosphere of brutality was suffocating.

Saura hoped desperately that her husband was nearby...he was supposed to be with Leo II-but who knows what might have come up. For now, all she could hope was that her actions were enough to snap Darren out of it.

After a moment or two, she would see what her son's next move would be and re-access the situation. For now, she would use every fiber of her being to protect Maybelle from any further harm.
