By now, when Shade felt his mussels relaxed enough to climb out of the tub, he would place the book down. A frown crossed his face, sensing a malevolence in the air. "Hmmm..." he whispered musedly to himself. "Not the same feeling I felt on my arrival, but I need to be on guard all the same..." It felt as if something was about to break loose at any moment, burst into the open. Meant he needed to get dressed and now is the feeling that he had. Shade had gotten into his pack, pulling out clothing that was more fit to wear around a castle. The timing he had gotten dressed would be about when Saura had entered the Leo's room in her first attempt to save Maybelle. As it was, he didn't know of the events that were transpiring, threatening to break out of the fragile barrier that kept the rest of the castle from knowing about it. Had it been aware to him, he would have acted as a somewhat substitute for her champion, who was busy with other matters. After getting dressed, he sat down on the bed, lacing his boots. He was thinking about taking a nap, but instintually, the paladin knew he would be needed for something. What part he would play in the twist of fate he didn't know, so he wanted to be ready for anything.
Shade's spine stiffened as he grew more alert. Hearing cries of no, sounding like an anguished angry tone to his voice. Reaching over as he stood up off the bed, his hand clasped a blade still in it's sheath. Not thinking there would be enough time to put the blade equiped to his person, he left the room, watching a worried Leo Jr head towards the main, with his mother in his arms. The poor youth seemed to be torn in two... Glancing around to see first if any of the healers were around to tend to it, he saw none. The paladin moved to follow Leo to the castle main area. Understanding the feeling of a purposeful anger, blended in with a need to protect, something he has to do. Frowning as he seen the fresh blood on the youth's head...
"Leo!" Shade called out to get the young man's attention before he was startled. Not wishing to get injured in what adrenaline may think is a threat before friend was recognized. Nodding with the same understanding as before, Shade reached out. "Before I let you go anywhere I need to heal you first..." Reaching out, Shade used his healing hands ability. Of his abilities, that was one of his favorites, a very useful trick that comes with his job, quick healing and good for what happened to Leo. Touching the youth's head to make the injury and pain go away. To leave him feeling fresh and renewed. The next move would be to set the sheathed blade down, the blade was available for Leo to take. "I can't let you go unarmed either." Positioning himself to take the mother from the youth.
Nodding once more, words to comunicate that Shade would take care of the mother, to make sure nothing more happened to the non combatative members of his family. Looking around to see where, if in the area Saffron was, he made for a lesser populated corner of the main hall. To set Saura down on a couch for comfort. Should Saffie be anywhere close, he would ask her to go to the bar and get her mother's preffered drink, or another healer, if not both. So she might not feel useless in what was going on. "What happened?" he glanced towards Saura, concerned and worried about what he was stepping on the trail edges of. "What issue was it that would cause your eldest to out with steel and leave you injured?"
As platonic as ever, Shade scanned for injuries, searching out the one that needed the same healing that was offered to the son moments ago. Prepared to listen, being as he doubted the harm was well and gone from the castle walls. Till he knew what and where it was, and their father arrive, he would remain here. In that nod to go, Shade promised Leo II that he would make sure the girls remained in safety.
